Group Sadowsky-Convert!

This group is for the people like me.

I used to think, "Sadowsky is just a rip off of Fender, and they're overpriced etc etc."

And then, I played a Sadowsky 5-string Metro, and fell in love.

I can't afford one, but man do I love these! I go down to ClubBass here in Toronto just to play them!

So, who else is in the same boat as I am?

Havent got a chance to play one yet but I heard Travis Carlton play one at a show and I am sooooooo sold on the tone!!!!!!! It could play like a turd and I would still play it for the tone.

If you want to really "get it", play one at a gig. I've owned a lot of high end basses and played a lot more, but nothing works in the mix like my Sadowsky.

I did not understand why Sadowsky received so much praise (especially considering the price) until I had a chance to play one. I have not looked back since. It cuts through better than my Sterling (which is a monster) and does the Jazz-with-a-twist thing the best.

While I still love my Zon, and Music Man, the Sadowsky kills. Especially the newer, sub-8lbs NYCs.

Hi Randall! Thanks for sharing. I too suffer from the same disease. The only cure known to man is to own more than one.

Actually you spread part of the disease. My transwhite UV70 fiver used to be yours. A certain Biker4him passed the disease on over to me.

I have a sneaking suspicion that, come January 08 or so, the Metro line might indeed satisfy your (as well as my own) jones for a Sadowsky P5/PJ5. I'm confident in this because I have been offering up sacrifices (generally cheap Squire Pbasses) to my Roger alter for the last 6months or so, complete with incense, incantations, dancing, and the ritual offering of strong liquor.

I got the fever 6 months ago when I purchased my 1st NYC bass. I am one week away from owning my 2nd. This time a Metro MS5. Not sure if it will stop there. It's like a bag of chips. You just can't stop eating! Sadowsky's Rule!

I installed the full Sadowsky electronics package into my latest build (Warmoth J4) and was literally blown away. So were the guys who did the final setup and fret dressing....the look on their faces when they were testing the pickups was PRICELESS. A positively unreal level of note clarity...hard to describe precisely, but let me just say that the first thing that went through my mind was "So THAT's why so many TV cats (like Will Lee, Ricky Minor, etc) use this stuff!"

After I got my Lakland DJ5, which was significantly better than the MIA Fenders I'd tried, I thought, "how much better can a Sadowsky really be?" I figured it would be about the same.

Now I own two Sadowskys. The Lakland was very nice, but ultimately just couldn't quite stack up.
