bassn00b11 - The 410 should have WAY more oomph at 100hz than any 112. I think you're going to be disapointed in a 112 if this is truly your goal. Again, the sound will sound bigger, and just more, by adding a 112 of any sort, simply because of the height issue. If they cab has a tone character that is drastically different from the 410, then it'll sound different. But low-end isn't what I'd expect.

100hz is where most cabs start rolling off really fast on a frequency spectrum. Again, are you SURE your 410 is okay? Have you checked for phase issues? It's not unusual for a cabinet to have them, and many people have gigged with cabinets that have phase issues for years without knowing it. All you need to check is a 1/4" cable and a 9 volt battery.

If it were me, and I had a head that did 600 watts at 4 ohm, I'd want a 4 ohm 410 that could handle all of that juice. A 112 might be a good option to expand your rig, plus it would give you a small cab to use at small gigs, but I just don't think it's going to make your rig suddenly have boom or girth.

I'll check the 410 when I get home, but I am almost 100% positive there is nothing wrong with it. I've never had any problems with it in the past, and with the current Amp (SVT-200T) I am running it sounds nice and tight, punchy and aggressive. I am getting the Shuttle and want to run it at a 4ohm load which means I am going to add another cab and rather than doubling up on the 410's, adding a 15, 18, 210, I wanted to add a single 12 to bring a little (this is the key...I'm not looking for a dramatic boost in low end here, just a little extra sauce so to speak....) more depth to it. Honestly I don't see why won't work, and I think you may be overstimating how much I expect from the 12.

Bottom line, the 410 has served me well and I don't want to bring in another cabinet that is going to totally change my tone or another 410, but something that will support it in the areas where the sound is a little weaker, the mids and down. Also, weight, size, and portability are factors as well plus I think a 12 will serve me a lot better if I only want to bring one cab.

It might do it for you. It makes a BIG difference having a drive up close to your ear. On that one event I mentioned, I had trouble hearing the 410 without overpowering everyone else. I added the 112 on top and it was louder to me, yet I was able to turn down. Extra sauce as you say, but it wasn't deeper sounding.

A 112 could totally change your tone since it's what you'll be hearing mostly if you put it on top. It depends on the 112. I guess the only you'll ever know for sure is to try it and see what happens.

The 112 in the combo is VERY full and goes about as deep as I could imagine anyone really ever needing.

Anyway, I'm still excited to hear a NEOX112. I have access to a 212 that I'm running this weekend- with either the 6.0 or a 1200!

Agreed. But all the reported cases of comparisons have said the NeoX is deeper, while the Shuttle version feels more sharp and punchy.

Now that's what I'm talking about. A Neo-pak and a 212 is my favorite combo. It has a big wallop.

Try these settings and let me know what you think.

Low - 2 o'clock
Mid-center - 11 o'clock
Mid - 1 o'clock
High - 1 o'clock
HPF - off
Scoop - off
LF ext - ON!

This setup has a very modern rumble to it depending on the bass. If you use a Jazz or your Valenti I bet it will flat out slam!

I've been looking hard at these two cabs too, not as a supplement to a 410, but as options to stack with a GB Shuttle 6.0. I play fingerstyle rock, mostly with P-bass these days, although I have an active 5-string that gets used occasionally as well.

The NeoX 112 doesn't seem to pop up for sale used a lot, much less a pair of them, whereas the GS112 seems to be everywhere, with great used prices. Seems like I'd get more value for my dollar with a pair of used GS112's than a pair of new Neox112's - IF I like the tone, which is a roll of the dice anyway, since I can't play either of these cabs in the local area beforehand.

Who's using the GS112 stack in a good 'ol rock context? Does it deliver? Cuts through the live stage mix and all that? I read a comment or two about the cab perhaps being a bit mid-scoopy...

I have a friend here on TB (slapagroov) that uses a gs112 with a GBE 750. He really like the result, so I'm sure a stack of them would be great.

Also, Kirk (svtb15) has 3 or 4 of them, and he likes it.

Indy, The NEOx12 don't pop up for sale that because people simply don't get rid of them. That to me is a statement on it's own. Also, dual NEOx112's are just the bomb.

Depends on the sort of rock tone you want, the head/bass you're using, and of course, you. I use 2xGS112s with an old Ashdown ABM 500 and can't get enough aggression or clarity (well I can get the clarity with the tweeters on but I really don't like tweeters...). I'm vaguely in the Squire/later Entwistle camp. To me, my rig sounds a bit too Ampeg-like (and I don't get on with Ampeg). This may be a good thing for you.

I would suggest the Avatar SB112 Neo. Great cab, GREAT price, sounds awesome with my EA Micro-300.
