a mesa D-350!

i've wanted a mesa for years, but i needed a smaller amp. somehow i missed the existence of this 3.2 pound head for quite a while, read about it all night, combed through the manual, and this morning i pulled the trigger. it is expected to arrive friday. i'm practically jumping up and down with anticipation

What cab(s) are you going to be playing it through?

I'd love to try one out!. It's smaller & lighter than my original Walkabout head. I've been considering selling it towards the purpose of getting a D-350 and a Subway 2x15".

Checking one out in these parts is difficult. The closest Mesa dealer is over 2 hours away and the bass guy there has a lip on for Mesa. The next closest after that are all 7+ hours away & out of province.

good question about the cab. not sure yet. right now, my only cab is a phil jones C-2. i'll have to consider. i'm not playing out, so no real pressure, but i'd like it to sound great.

I'm sure you're going to love it. I love my Mesa amp, anyway (TT800). Mesa is an excellent company, still making the same sort of great products that it has been respected for over the years. A classic example of genuine quality - and value for your money! A joy to own and use. Good choice!

I don't know what connection your speaker is but the amp is only speakeron. I found out when mine got here, adapter to 1/4" on the way!

I too talked to AgedHorse about this for quite a bit last year (debating this vs. a stand-alone Class D power amp to be used with pedals). I got that other amp at a really good price last fall, but I ended up getting the D-350 as well a few weeks ago...just couldn't resist. I've been interested in Mesa amps ever since I saw my first 400+ in a music store 30 years ago, and the Subway series has interested me for quite a while. The D-350 is, in my estimation, the PERFECT amp for me for right now - Very small form factor, weighs next-to-nothing, has all of the power I'll ever need at home, is quiet (no fan) and sounds fantastic. Rarely does an amp inspire me to play more, but this amp has done just that. My prediction is that you're going to love it. I'd never owned a Mesa bass amp before, and I'm thrilled with the D-350.

i couldn't find my adapter from my TC, so i have a couple on the way. they should be here before the amp arrives.

i've never owned a mesa before, but for me, they've always been the amp to get someday. i used to go to the mesa/boogie store in hollywood and try things out. i also bought a schecter bass there (go figure).

i'm expecting to love the d-350, and your post has me even more excited!

I also paired Berg 12inch cabs with the d800, and its sweet! I rarely need both cabs, and I bet if you had a single speaker Mesa or Berg cab, it would do everything you need.

I think I want to get one of these too. D350, and two SW 112 cabs. I went D800+, 115, 210 and that's overkill for what I need. I'm just not going to do the volume war gigs anymore, already have hearing damage and what's left is precious. Not that the D350 / 112s can't get loud. Was hoping that a new generation Walkabout combo was maybe coming, but I don't think that's going to happen. Congrats on the new amp!
