Guild Pilot bass club?

Once again we owe TrustRod a round of applause, a virtual cold beer and another big Thank You for his obj. files for Pilot trussrod covers...

Shown here are my own printed demos from the files he made from spec drawings I made for him to work with... From left to right, 0.5mm (original cover thickness), 1mm, 1.5mm and 2mm Pro4/5 model "short" covers...

I'll have a few of the 0.5mm printed up for my spare parts case - in black this time though...;)

Hi everyone..Wondering if someone could help me out here..?...I have a 1985-86 Guild SB-602..Standard 4 string bass...I played the hell out of it, until I put it away about 25 years ago.

Just looked at after two decades, and it looks neglected...The bridge is corroded, and big chunks are missing out of it.

Is there a replacement for this bridge (a standard size) that will fit perfectly where the corroded one currently sits..Without having to drill new holes etc..Any advice welcome..thanks.

It’s either going to be Schaller 3-D roller bridge: if it’s the former, yes, they still make them and they’re available for around $100. If it’s the latter, well, good luck. The Schaller may drop in for them, though, not sure.

Other than the bridge, and the usual dings of a 38 year old bass..the rest of the bass is in fine shape..The neck and action/playability is still great.

I agree. If the height adjustment screws still work, I think the bridge looks playable and if you can live with the cosmetics, saves you about $120.

I can honestly say that I would like to have that old Guild-branded Schaller myself...

Certainly, if it was my bass, I'd remove it, drop it into a little container of WD-40 and let it soak for a few days or so and then tear it down completely, clean it all up, put it all back together and either re-use it or keep it for spare parts.

I think it would probably do the trick. Or, you know, buy a gold Kramer branded Schaller on eBay and spray paint it black, but who would do such a thing?

Yes..I think I'll take the bridge off and clean it up..I am in Canada, and there's a lot of gouging (especially on eBay) to get a replacement...

I was thinking of buying individual saddles for it ($25 each), but that doesn't make much sense either,

Also. I'd like to thank everyone here for their suggestions.
