or do you have just the word guild in capital letters over something that looks like the top of a triangle.

whats the serial number on the 83? at one point i had serial number BE 100019

your 83 is actually an 84. they only made up to serial number BE 100050 in 83.

Eh, whatever! I saw one registry where there are basses with higher serial numbers than mine listed as 83's. Doesn't really matter, it is one of the first 500 Pilots ever made, the exact vintage doesn'treally matter to me one way or the other.

I am painfuloly considering parting with my Guild Advanced pilot sb 902 Sn JE0000011. Can anyone give me an idea what something like that in very good condition would go for? I am the original owner.

Here's mine. I've had it since the late 80's, bought it used for $350 and put almost all of the play wear on it. I put a EMG BTC boost circuit and set it up on 18V. It is my go to bass for an active sound. Serial range 1017

Happy to have found this thread. Here is my contribution. I picked this up on a trade back in the early 90's. USA built. It is a lovely sounding piece of wood: the pickups also sound great, however the pots are either all are almost nothing. This fact limits the degree of blending I can do with the pickups. I believe there is a need to replace the pots; does anyone have any suggestions? Can anyone suggest electronic mods they have done?
