Guitar/bass pick question

Dunlop Tortex .60mm for bass here.

Dunlop Nylon Max Grip .60mm for guitar (which is a bit more flexible than the Tortex one).

I predominantly use my fingers for both though.

@Dirtnap - ^you mean you’re using the same “make and model” pick since 1990?

Or do you mean you’ve been using the exact same piece of plastic for over 30 years?

Same exact pick. I thought I had lost it for a few years while I wasn't playing, but found it in an old box of Magic The Gathering cards. I've used that same pick for about 2 or 3 thousand hours of playing. I've never dropped it or had it move around.

Lavender Dunlop Tortex 1.5 mm is the best pick for me. I also like the 1.5 or 2.0 mm Dulop alligator picks, but I prefer the smoother finish on the Tortex.

I use thin picks for guitar, and a 2mm big stubby for bass. The stubby doesn’t flex, but the indentation where I hold it allows me to let it to rock back and forth in my grip as needed, depending on the kind of attack I want.

I only in the last year began playing bass with a pick regularly. Once I tried a bunch of different picks and practiced regularly, I’m having a lot of fun with it.

I'm not really a guitar player, although I have taken lessons before and have one around the house, and I don't really play bass with a pick, but I go with equal thickness. My guitar friends like those short/stubby picks as they were more metal/sweep folks, so I always had those around, and for bass I would use the blue Dunlops, so I think 1mm for both.
