Guitar body, bass neck...possible?

+1 On the that Stratbass. Gassieball, would soundclips be possible? I'd love to hear how that sounds. Especially because of the s/coil EMG's.

That tele is awesome! I want to do something very similar, with the mm pickup and all.

I refinished a First Act guitar body and mated it with a custom neck. I had my tech fill the trem cavity with a block of wood, cut the neck pocket deeper, and mount the bridge further back than the original. The main problem I had with it was that the top horn wasn't long enough to prevent neck dive.

.....and there is also Tim Armstrong (can't remember his screen-name though...)

All have built tele basses using guitar bodies and short scale necks (bronco and rondo), and all look incredible.

Different Tim Armstrong. This "Tim" is a friend of mine ...that's where I got the body for "HOSS" from (pictured above)...i mated it with a Dano neck, Bronco bridge, bottle opener, and MM pickup...cool bass, IMO.

Thanks - I've only played a small part in HOSS' development - I think i'm the third owner, and each one has changed it up a bit ... kinda a "ever evolving" bass !

Warmoth offer a Single cut away version of one of their body shapes that resembles a telecaster thats available for the 30" scale necks they sell.
Along with a full scale Custom T which is basically a tele shape, bass size.

Yada yada about resale value, but a converted guitar would do worse.

I remember seeing Hoss over on TDPRI. That thing has some real mojo.

It works pretty good, man.

On mine, I had to route the pocket a little but the depth was just fine how it was. That's a 34" scale P neck on there too, balances just fine if you put the strap button behind the neck.

SD 1/4 pounder single coil under the hood too!

Hi everyone, I'm new here! I'm Jim from the UK and play a 70s Jazz Bass and P Bass Deluxe Series Special but now thinking of taking on a project - the Tele Bass. Jones_Stuff, that is beautiful! Do you have any other pics you could share, e.g. of the pick up fitting? Also, how much trouble did you have fitting the neck? Thanks
