Guitar center $5.00 bass strings

I stopped at guitar center for strings last night. Dr strings were 5.06 per set! Needless to say, im good on strings for the next couple years!

I got ten sets, unfortunately they did not have black beauties but i was able to stock up on sunbeams, highbeams & pure blues! This was guitar center at the rotary in braintree mass if anyone wants to go in today and see if thery are still on clearance?

Just called them and they said they knew nothing about this. Not that surprising really. The last $5.00 closeout they ran a few months ago , all the stores I called were clueless about it.

I have seen cases of guitar strings at about a 50% discount twice this year on Musician's Acquaintance (which is GC? and bought 'em), but never bass strings.

‘Uh, that is one heck of a deal. Which DR strings? The last 4 string set of Lo Riders I bought ran a bit short of $25. The funny thing is, The GC where I live rarely have them in stock.

What is there to explain? However, perhaps Ares Management should be asking past and potential customers questions along this line.

It's a trick! They use this to lure you so they can troll you with misleading ads. I read it on TalkBass, so it must be true.

They probably meant to price them $5 per string. Even that’s a decent deal.

Amazed nobody working there had a friend come in to buy all of them.

Basically free strings or free money, as you prefer.

They had Fender bass strings at GC over the summer at $5 per pack. Bought a few since I’m not crazy about Fender strings but they had a bunch of them.

Sounds like an error, although when I worked retail sometimes when stuff had been on the shelf too long the system would just keep marking it down... I remember grabbing a laser printer for $21 that had been in our inventory like 2 model years of printers. (Probably $299 for the current model year)

I’d have bought all those too.

Fender strings are about 15 bucks anyway. Retail.

The $5 sale was probably supposed to be for regular 6 string guitar packs, not bass strings.
