Guitar Center used site

Just a heads up about GC online. I am a frequent customer and I have had both great purchases and some crummy ones. But, and it's a big deal, about 4 months ago, I bought a bass from one of the mid-south stores. I don't remember which one, but less than one week later, the credit card I gave them over the phone was used for purchasing sneakers in some western state and used as a "In Person" transaction, meaning it was swiped. Tha card company made good, I didn't owe any money and the card was replaced. After that fiasco, if I find something I want on the GC used website, I just call my local GC store, and have one of the managers run the sale and have the goods sent to the store. They understand why and are cool with it.

Is it just me, but everytime i see one of these offered i think of this....

How are these cabs?

I don't have a cab from them, but I bought some Genz Benz branded Faitals from them, and I can say they seem like a good company. I believe it was the owner who answered my phone calls, and he was really helpful and rushed the speakers out pronto for me since I had a gig coming up. Nice guy, and knowledgeable.

Always, ALways, ALWays, ALWAys, ALWAys, ALWAYs, ALWAYS! review your credit card statements & it won't be a problem. I always call the store that's selling it, because I feel like they're more likely to give me a break on the price or throw something in than my local store.

Often GC employees will write down all your credit info, which is against their rules, and then just toss it or leave it around. I'd never had a card hijacked until using GC, now it happens once a year.

Thanks for this advice.
I ordered a cabinet 2 days ago and was giving the guy my CC information; they had a computer glitch and he promised to call me back; I asked him to be cool with the CC info as I had read that there are sometimes problems.
An hour goes by and there is no call. I call back and the original guy was too busy to pick up and another guy wants to help.
I go through the story and ask him to get it settled. He says he will make sure the original ticket is shredded and to give him the info again.
I tell him that this seems sloppy that their staff doesn't have the time to call back on a $500 order and that giving the info a second time isn't that cool; I reluctantly do so as I really want this GB Neo 2x12 cabinet. The original guy calls back, assures me that the CC info is cool but needs to verify the shipping address that I just gave guy #2.
I give him the info and say to take their time on shipping as customer service has not been impressive and I am anxious that they won't package a large bass cabinet properly.
I'm told they never have a problem and the info is safe.
I say great but I can promise you an instant CC charge back for anything that has not been disclosed or if there is a shipping problem; if he has a problem with this then cancel the sale now. He says no problem.
Let's see what happens when the cab arrives later this week and what happens to my CC in the future.
It almost seems like one should periodically cancel a card and renew based on bogus charges that often occur at least once a year.

Should have bought the cabinet new before Fender killed them…

Amazing
The cabinet arrived without damage and well packed.
They described it very accurately and, IT WORKS GREAT.
Used it on an outdoor gig today.
Looks like GC can get it right; at least the one in NJ.
