Guitar Center used site

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but beware of this spector timbre . I bought it thinking it would be a good acoustic bass for the house and not being too old should've been in good shape. This picture is deceiving. It looks like it had been rained on , fretboard rust and grime , strings were rusted , tuners completely bunked , tons of dents and dings in the neck and back of body. I wouldn't have Even bought it for 50$ it looked disgusting I've had basses from the 60s that weren't as dirty as that guitar was. Serial is 000192 I believe. Guitar center used site spector timbre. I'm not surprised they posted it again after I returned

Post bump and update:
DO NOT buy this bass: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

I returned it with a stripped truss rod nut and is totally unplayable as the strings are dragging on the fretboard and there is no way to adjust it unless you replace the neck.

Just for fun, I decided to track how many times GC will sell this broken bass.
It's been 5 times so far and counting...it looks like they are making some money on non-refundable shipping fees, LOL.
The bass being purchased and returned in different states, it is literally traveling across the Country and being returned every time.

Wow!

FWIW, when I receive something from GC's used site that has an issue (only a few times in the, shall we say, way more than a few purchases), the first thing I do is call the toll-free corporate number, talk to them and get the shipping charges refunded. Then I approach a local store for either a refund or in one case a partial refund while keeping the item.

I don’t think that’s even necessary. This last weekend I went with a friend to a store return a short scale bass bought online that was damaged and they refunded shipping without a fight. I think if there’s a problem with the instrument you’ll get it back.

Agreed. 3 different times they sent me damaged basses, all 3 times they refunded shipping without issue.

I believe you guys got lucky and it depends on the State, region, management, etc.
Most of the time they will not refund shipping fees even if it is their fault for not properly checking the instrument before putting it up for sale. Their return policy does not cover the defective product scenario, so they just generalize:

If you’re not satisfied, neither are we. If for any reason you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase, simply return it in its original condition within the return period and we’ll give you a full refund of the purchase price, excluding shipping and handling charges.

Not long ago, I had an awful experience at the Orlando, FL store because they did not refund the shipping even if the bass was defective. I had to call the 800 number to get the shipping fee back.

Next day, I talked to the district manager to complain about the store manager "I don't care" attitude as well.
The DM did agree that defective product refunds should include shipping, and he said he would be discussing it with the store manager.
