Guitar Center used site

There’s 2 Trickfish TF112 cabs for $450 each, I just got a pair off FB marketplace (for more than that), or I’d grab them. Nice cabs, not the smallest/most schleppable 1x12’s out there (still manageable though), but they sound really good.

There’s also two marked as BM212’s for $399, a better deal overall but I’m not familiar with those cabs…

I just picked up this CR5 bass from Guitar Center
Traded in a WAV5 for $800 credit.
Walked away with only around $850 out-of-pocket.
Bass arrived today, other than needing a good setup, bass was in perfect condition.
Sticker labels for the knobs peeled right off with minimal effort.
Amazing deal!

I've had good luck with sight unseen purchases at GC until today.

Used "Great" Six string electric arrived thusly:
- In a typical good condition box, wrapped in a single long coil of large bubble wrap.
- Pickup selector switch broken off, stuck in the wrap.
- Strap *still on the guitar*. This is where I began laughing.
- Two strings fell off the posts while tuning.
- Noticed one of the four pots was floating lose, as if missing the nuts.
- Opened up the back to discover that only one of the four pots was wired to *anything*. The guitar was wired one volume direct to the output jack.

Seriously? Shame on the Richmond, VA GC for that sale :thumbsdown:

I played one when they were newish and was really impressed. One square foot. It was louder, sounded better than the little Markbass combo (8" speaker). I'd also be SUPER surprised if it weighed even close to 24lbs. Seemed a lot lighter to me.

If you want to keep it, call and work something out with them - I’ve done that to a satisfactory resolution.

Fyi, this is the last thread I need to subscribe to (one that points out deals on GC’s website). :laugh:

No hassle return for Gretsch Double Jet :bassist:

I'll add that on my next visit, two Sterling Ray4HH off the wall had banana back bowed necks and a third had an electronics issue. A Ray24 had fret sprout that cut open a finger.

I returned it last night at the Orlando store because the truss rod is shot!
There is no tread at all in the truss rod, and it won't move, the bass is unplayable, their tech confirmed it.
I cannot believe these guys posting it for sale today!

I'll say similar about the yellow L2K in the Langhorne, PA store. Corroded, cable fell out of the jack, and some frets notched. No way that should be listed or on a hook for sale as anything better than "As-is/needs repair".

Nothing earth-shattering here, but since I noticed this one in person, I should mention it. This Mexican Standard Jazz Bass is priced at $479 (probably should be the first hint something is wrong). It looks pristine in the photo, but is actually quite heavily dinged along the whole bottom edge. Didn’t plug it in, but wanted to mention the cosmetic damage. For the price, I kinda considered grabbing it and calling it a relic.
