This guy arrives tomorrow, MIM Standard Fretless for $350 shipped. Fingers crossed it is as awesome as the guy said it was, but if not, back it goes for a refund. I figure I can't go wrong with that return policy...

You can't. That's why I don't understand why GC gets beat up in so much in many posts. Yeah, I've had a few stinkers delivered to me from them but I've always been able to get all my money back including shipping.

Right on bthren - I agree! Is it really a hassle if they include the return slip and provide a full refund up to 30 days after you take receipt? Never understood those posts. My experience thus far has been limited to pedals purchased off the GC used site. Every one has come well packed in bubble wrap or cardstock, and I've never had an issue with the unit not working as expected. I was a little nervous about shipping a bass without a HSC, but the refund is making me sleep easier. I'll take some pics when I get home from the office tomorrow and show you guys the packing job they did on it.

I ordered my GK Neo 412 from their used site and it came wrapped in more bubble wrap than I've ever seen. No box, but it came freight style. On a wooden palette. Haha.

Plays just fine and arrived spotless.

I've ordered tons of stuff from them that way and only had one guitar that I had to return. No fault of theirs. Just a tele that wasn't in as good of shape as I would've liked. Full refund. No questions.

I think it comes down to how big of a deal you're getting and how long it's been there, I'm sure that MIM FL will be great and it looks beautiful, on the other hand I've never paid more than $150 for a MIM Jazz from a GC and those have either been "Just Arrived" where I'm battling to get to it first, or when I'm the first person to notice a "Price Drop" and it's been there forever. In both cases there is a much bigger fail percentage. Never really had a problem with a MIM Fender from a GC though that wasn't fixed with contact cleaner and normal setup procedures. On the other hand(I need to find a new expression), I've gotten a pedal from them each day for the past 3 days and all of them have been broken...sigh.

Shipping is additional (but pretty reasonable from what I've found). If there's a Guitar Center store in your state, they'll probably have to charge you sales tax too.

There are those who call the store (rather than buy online) and have talked their way into free shipping.

Always call. If the guy you get on the phone won't deal, call back and talk to someone else a half hour later. I've never gotten them to waive shipping entirely, but I've gotten them to 2 day it rather than ground, or take some money off the price of the item.
