a buddy bought this bass and ive got it right now. it took a fret level to cut fall away into the upper register, clamping the neck into back bow and adding two washers under the truss nut, cutting the nut slots lower, rounding the fingerboard edges, knocking off the fret sprout to make this an A level bass. you never know! i bought one a month earlier off gc for 199 and its one of the best basses out of the box ive ever bought at any price point.

A Carvin B4 in the really wild and now discontinued harlequin prismatique metalic finish $369 in Kentwood, Michigan.

Don't think it's a B4. Carvin site lists them as 22 frets. Makes it an even better buy. While I was looking at it saw this. Would like a better pic of the pickup though, to be sure the route for the new pickup wasn't too sloppy.

Yup, but if you're dealing with a numbskull employee and a nincompoop manager is working that day, you might do better.

Yea. Never been that fortunate there on the sell/trade part. I have however scored some amazing steals on used gear on the buying side.

Only time I get those guys is when I'm trying to buy something and they try to lie to me (or tell what they stupidly think is the truth) about a product I already know everything about.

I really debated back and forth on buying this one but I dont need it. Its super cool looking but the only part I can identify is the Bridge and thats the body is MIM. I cant tell if the neck is a painted MIM neck or not. It looks like a jazz special neck but it doesnt have a logo.

I got my amp today and overall happy about it. It was packaged very well with bubble wrap and they also had polyfoam lining the box so it was very well protected. One crappy thing though was I spoke to someone at the store just to check if the tubes will be taken out or not and they said they were and it'll ship in a separate box. I then asked if they could 'map' out what tube came out of which socket and they said they would. I got the 'map' which they only identified A, B, and C :rollno:. A = KT88 B = ECC83 and C = ECC81. Looked like whoever took out the tubes did a poor job with one of the tubes since the pins on one of the ECC83 were all bent out of shape.

I'll be taking the amp to a tech (Aztech) to give it a look over so I may invest in new tubes :bassist:

So I've been curious. Would ordering a large cab from GC's Used site be a bad idea?
(Say a 70 lb 410 or something.)
Do they charge for oversize shipping?
Not really looking, I'm just wondering.
Has anyone done it?

I've done it a few times with no problems. Shipping was cheaper than it would've been ordering from an individual seller...I don't remember the cost, but remember thinking it was reasonable. It's been a few years though.
