That jazz 24 is kind of beat up. Not a bad price, but the pictures really don't capture all the wear and dings that it has. It also has rather high action, but that may be easily fixed with a setup unless the neck is wonky. It was really hard to get a feel for how it really plays with the action being so high up.

That could be a deal break, lots of these had neck warping issues so if the neck is wonky I wouldnt want to buy it unseen.

Thanks for the heads up.

That USA J is a steal. I bought a american standard P, same color and all around the same year without a case for $400 but I shouldnt have paid that it was totally trashed , HUGE dents and chips. I could throw a bass in the back of the truck with gravel, drive around LA all day and I would bet it was cleaner, but I swapped it for a mint Jack Cassidy and case.

That J doesnt look that beat up. If its not missing chunks of wood its good.

Who says Peavey gear has no resale value???

I played this bass yesterday. I have never played a Ken Smith or high end bass before and all I can say is Wow!!! It was a revelation to be sure. Did not quite figure out all the controls but there was lots of tonal variety and the bass felt and sounded fantastic with what looked like Fender groundwound strings on it. Really liked the neck feel.

I believe the last 4 digits of the serial number were 1991, does that sound about right for year of manufacture?

Thank you.

Hey guys, wonder if someone can give me a heads up on this ESP..Seems like a good price for a REAL ESP SURVEYOR not a LTD..It's at my local Guitar Center but haven't had a chance to go check it out. I've looked for one to compare it to but seems their kinda rare and can't find one to compare it to...$499 Any info would great thanks

Anyone in the Seattle area able to take a look at something for me? I've been jonesing for an 8 string bass (octave courses like a 12 string guitar) and a used ESP just showed up at the Seattle GC. Its priced well, but I want to see what kind of condition its in. The single picture made it look pretty good but I thought I'd ask if someone could check in person. Thanks!

I'll scope it out for you tomorrow, if it's still there.

Ibanez Mikro bass at the Langorne, PA store. Item #109930546. Looks to be in minty shape and listed at just $59.00!

These are fun little basses that usually go for $100+ and have some eager followers.

Was still there, but a couple of cats checking it out. I sat down and played it...
It could use a setup. Truss rod turned fine in both directions though, so one should be attainable (I only turned it 1/8th turn in both directions though, so I don't know how much is left). The strings are mostly dead on it as well. Body, neck and everything is in pretty nice shape - I couldn't see any major imperfections on it. I didn't get a chance to plug it in to test electronics though. Feels pretty solid. I'd pick it up if I had any inkling to play a 4x2 bass.
