Judging by the newer headstock and older control plate, I'd guess late 80s? I'm no G&L expert, but I know they don't use those plates anymore so it'd have to be an older American one.

I just returned the $500 American standard jazz to commack ny GC. I told them the volume knobs are either all on or off, the saddle adjustment screw is stuck, the nut is unglued, and the 15th-17th frets cause buzzing. They claimed they'll fix it, so at that price if they fix it, or even not fixed it's still a good buy.

I think it was standard issue on the squier ii. I'm imagining they also came like that in white & black. Surprise! Red, white, & black squiers!

Sounded great. I woulda kept it and gotten the minor repairs done but I'm all in with shortscales nowadays.
