There was a squier vista musicaster for $199 and it has a aftermarket black guard, good deal. I sat there debating it but I have done to much buying lately and I have only been playing 1 hour of practice time a day, which is low or me. I need to keep on the chops, but thats a good deal if you are looking.

It wasn't there when I stopped in. I asked a couple of reps about it and they both said basically "I don't know what happened to it." So, it might be sold, moved somewhere else in the store, or something. I'll be driving past there again next Sunday - if it's still listed, I'll swing in again.

This is a really well built 25" scale ABG. I had one and sold it cuz there were no string options, but there are a few options coming up from Labella.
Michael Kelly built it and then did zero marketing for it. It coulda been huge if they put the word out and offered strings.

Looks like it. It doesn't have a zero fret. 200 bucks with a case is pretty damn good....assuming it hasn't been abused.

I was just at the Arlington, TX store and tried out a few of the basses they had. There was a fretless Peavey Axelerator that was in really sad shape (the electronics were very noisy and I couldn't get a good sound out of it). There was a Jaco jazz bass for around $1000 with flats that had a great tone, but I couldn't really get the classic Jaco tone out if it, but thats probably due to the flats. Lastly, there was an 86 Ric bass in tuxedo white with flats that had a pretty decent sound, but the action was set too high to get a good idea of the feel. If I had $2200 I might have picked it up myself, but I'd have to check the truss rods.

I had a CXC-400. Blew it up after my second show with it. Couldn't hang. But, mine was an original first run model right after they came out.

Looks nice with those upgraded pups - probably a lot hotter than the stock ones.

When these sit a while (this one has), it's likely because the neck isn't straight. If it is OK, that's prob a good deal

Yesterday I played a Chinese Fender Dimension Modern Player in transparent charcoal ($500) at the Kirkland WA location, and it was a sweeeet machine. Great tone and not a clanky spot on the board. I'm not a big Fender guy, but I do like to tinker with their inventory when I'm on a work break nearby. If I had the extra dough I sure would have bought it. I still might use their layaway plan if it's still there next week.
