Saved me a trip. I dont really even want a 4001, so paying $1500 for a trashed one isnt happening lol. I bought a beat up one of craigslist in may for $800 so I am set.
Update on the Warwick: I received it on Thursday and sent it back on Friday. It had a bunch of dumb modifications to it and sounded horrible.
I should've called instead of trying to email them. (Never did get a response.) It would've saved me some hassle.
On the flip side, I just talked to Karl at the GC in Highland Park, IL. Nice guy!
Purchased a Warwick Corvette Standard (apparently an '03, so MIG) for $450 with free shipping and some tax.
If I'm gonna get a Warwick, might as well get the actual thing, right?
Can't wait for this one!
Now, with the money I saved on shipping, time to head over to BSO.

Went to GC in Cerritos CA to check out a Fender '63 reissue P. It had sold (for a crazy high price unless the guy worked a deal).
On the wall there was a vintage Fender P in cherry burst over ash. Body looks like one piece. Hefty, guessing 10 pounds. Maple one piece neck. "S" serial #, said to be 1980. Fullerton? Sky high action despite slammed E saddle, so probably needs a shim. Moderate wear, wonky electronics. Tone for days!! $1600. :/

That's a score, no matter how you slice it. Especially if it came with that case. Wow!
I had a '92 Fury that played great. I think I sold it for around $200.
This schönheit came in today.
I can say that I am very happy with this purchase.
The growl is massive. Great sound altogether. Probably the nicest active bass I've ever owned.
I don't think it'll replaced my Jazz bass as my main player, but I've got other plans for its use.
24 frets and a 2 band EQ with super light round wounds make this perfect for solo bass arrangements!
All-in-all, you could do worse for ~$450.

Nothing short of amazing. I've owned 10 or so Ric's previously (2000s to current) and this blows them away. I was excited when I opened the box to see it had the toaster neck pup, checkerboard binding etc as that's what I was hoping for. Everything else appears original as well and just sounds stellar. I am a happy customer! Thanks to GC I've scored some amazing vintage basses!
2 stars isn't a good sign, but who knows.

My Bag End S15B-D disappeared en route!

A couple of days ago, it was out for delivery according to the UPS site, and never showed up. Now they don't know where it is. They aren't too easy to find, I hope it magically reappears.

Last night at 8:10, the UPS site said it was still lost. At 8:15, I got an email saying it was delivered. I ran to the front door, and they had dropped off the massive box and left without even knocking on the door. Very weird...My Bag End S15B-D disappeared en route!

But it arrived in great shape and I'm happy! I've had only good experiences with the GC used site.
Cool. I'm very curious about the condition it's in based on that price. That's fairly low for an MIM.
