For my first good acoustic guitar back in the '60s, I wanted an Eko 12-string. But, my local music store was out 12s and made me a very good deal on an in-stock Eko Ranger 6-string. It's the only piece of gear I still have from those good ol' days. And, though it's not a valuable collector's item, it still means a great deal to me for all the gigs and jams I've used it on over the years. I've enjoyed this nice sounding model for around 55 years now. It contributed to my great desire for an Eko 995 violin bass in the '70s!

It's life, ya know? I lost a leg at the very end of 2021.

Any instrument which can't be played sitting down has to go (Flying Vs, offset Vs, etc.). There are a few I didn't play much, anyway so ... it's time to stop keeping them because I like looking at them.

So I got another guitar just a few days ago.
Hadn't bought a new guitar in some time.
But found a deal I couldn't pass up.
It was used, came with the case & a strap--and I would have paid what I paid for just the guitar.
The case is sturdy & nice padding, etc.

While I have a P-Rail in a guitar and love it, I wanted a P-90 guitar (Also so I could leave one for slide (The P-Rail one probably--which I have posted already)--so I can play slide with humbucker(s), single coil(s) or a P-90 style pickup.)

So its as a NGD for me.
Which may do it as far as electric guitars for me (Unless I replace one)
But there are still basses, mandolins, acoustic guitars, resonators, cigar box guitars, etc.

A SX Telecaster clone. It’s just for home duties but if that ever changes (years away) it seems well put together and I’d think about pickup changes then. Fingers crossed I progress in ability a bit (a lot).

You could always spend a little time performing a setup on it, you might find that there is little to change.

It’s pretty good. Nice low action, going through the strings stretching and retuning phase atm. There’s nothing obviously wrong, it even sounds like a (generic) Tele.

I got a Squier Bullet Tele about 2 years ago, and was sure I’d replace the pickups. But after some time with OD and Amps settings, it sounds great. Especially when I crank it!

Not to say you shouldn’t. It’s so cheap and easy. I keep hearing great things about Bootstrap, I’d check them out, $50 a set!

Yeah, Bootstrap Tele pickups are as good as any at twice the cost. He’s a good dude too. He’s responsive. Really underpriced in my opinion.

Yes yes yes! I was wondering if there was another place I might fit in at. I recently bought TWO guitars so that I could start taking some lessons with my son. This is great!!

Originally I started learning guitar in late '97 but started learning bass in 2001. I eventually transitioned from rhythm to bassist for my church a few years later and then joined our rock band, initially on guitar but it wasn't the best fit. Been playing bass with them now for over 18 years.

Last summer I helped my son find a guitar so he could focus on something somewhat productive and keep him in a positive mental space, but he didn't do much with it. For Christmas I got him a combo amp and we agreed to take lessons together, which meant - I GET TO GO BUY A GUITAR!!

And, it was wife-approved! Found a Schecter S-1 Elite at my local GC which sounded great, so I've been noodling on that occasionally.

A month ago however I walked into GC to see my buddy there strumming a nice American Strat Deluxe that a gent was in the process of selling. Had I arrived about 15 min prior I could have gotten it for a reeeeealy good price but they sold it to me for below market so I'm happy with it. And is sounds fantastic - has a humbucker in the bridge position, S1 switch, and a LSR roller nut. Great shape also.

Well, I should probably go play for a little now, will find some pics per TB rulz...
