Guys, I know this may seem a bit amiss, but I have been a contributor to this thread and I really need to share this somewhere (Don't worry. There's guitar content):
What a lot of you (probably all of you) don't know is I have been very ill for a very long time. We're getting down to it, now. The funeral is planned and paid for and I've made my peace. I'm ready.
When it became apparent, a few years back, that I was coming into the home stretch, I decided to start selling off my guitars so that SWMBO wouldn't be left with that albatross around her neck.
There are some real vultures out there (offering me $900 for a '79 P-Bass all original, when they were
selling on REVERB for $2,600?). May they rot. Greedy, good-for-nothing opportunists who would screw an old lady out of her grocery money, if given a chance.
ANY time I've sold an instrument, I've done so with a mind toward someone, loving it as much as I do and getting some good use and inspiration out of it.
As is often the case, the world doesn't seem to see things the same way I do. So, about a year ago, I started giving away certain instruments to people who would show them some love.
I had a student who (for some reason) loved my SR300E. It became his, as soon as he voiced that opinion.
Fast forward to this past week:
I asked SWMBO to ship out two instruments for me. She did it and Thursday, they arrived at their new home.
The only bit more of a set-up I'll give is: The bass went to my student and the guitar to his friend.
