Guitarist take over...

Yeah that's the main jist of it but today at practice he was much better and gave back the drums to their rightful owner. Yeah Sry bout all this crappy grammar and stuff. I'm actuality American and have an A in English. I just was rushed and on a phone. So ny bad but most of you guys got the idea. And we talked and he's gonna do better were gonna plan for a show in January. And I'm getting cracking down. And well see how he handles himself.

Though were having a hard time finding a singer. A commited one that writes lyrics and shows up to practices. We've been through 3 singers. Help choosing the right one? Advice?

Well I am American...and I have an A in English. But I was rushed and on a Droid.
Anyway he improved today, didn't steal the drums or my tbird! Lol and we talked and we got a show planned later hopefully he can handle it. But I do have another problem!

Singers love um don't have one.
Had 3 but all had something wrong.

I need advice on knowing the signs of a good reliable singer.

We want someone to join the band and be a member and be as commited as we are!

How you guys meet your singers? If any? Qualities we should look for?

I disagree with this. Musical value is important, but for a working band, commercial value is equally important and sometimes more. So if a person with marginal talent has the ability to draw a crowd, get consistent paid bookings, and promote the band, that person will have equal or greater value than an amazing player who cannot do the above.

I think this is more confusing than your first post. Are you asking how to tell if someone is a good singer? Huh?

Not to play devil's advocate but if this guy is the last of the founding members aside from yourself and you're considering kicking him out it may be time to look in the mirror, especially considering you've already gone through 4 other members. I'd also like to point out that if you have no singer and are asking for tips on finding a singer, you're not in any position to be organizing shows unless there is someone in the band that can handle that duty in the interim.

I'm pretty much the band manager at this point. The old lead the 2nd founding is clueless beyond playing his guitar, drinking, and smoking weed. Don't think I mentioned the show times did i? Not this year of course lack of singer. And were running through 3 potential singers I just wanted to know any thing to look out for. Beyond the non tyrannical and charismatic. And beyond the basics. Like what makes your singers so great a certain quality? Tired of running through people just want to find a reliable singer. Lol looked in the mirror and saw a crappy bassist desperate for answers from a more experienced bass forum and got nothing but criticism on my English and no real help... and thanks guy for highlighting those mistakes you make a better teacher then my current one. I'll send my essays to you first.

Where to start? Firstly, I think TRichardsbass has covered why there is an issue with your English. It makes communicating the precise problems you are having very difficult, and because of that, will lessen the ability of others to respond with the most useful advice they can.

Now, to paraphrase you, your posts are scrappy and littered with mistakes because you rushed them. If you really feel like you are "desperate for answers", why not take the extra couple of seconds required to make your posts clear and succinct?

I actually find it quite rude that you would post up an almost indecipherable mess, expecting other people to give you advice.

When you were told that some of the guys were having trouble comprehending your writing, (and even this was done with the intention of helping you get more advice, by helping you make your question more clear), you respond with a pissy comment about how no one is helping you?

When you won't take an extra thirty seconds to make sure your question is clear, why should anyone else take some of their own precious time to help you? You were lucky, some of the guys in here decided to help you anyway, and you still come back with a pissy response?

Some people just can't be helped.

This all reminds me of Frank Zappa's rude comment about rock journalists, something like "People who can't write or play producing material for people who can't read."

On the serious side though, it is the music business. This includes marketing and packaging. Have you ever seen someone in a video and thought you were better than that? Might be so, but somehow they got signed and promoted. Having an understanding how not to self-destruct is good for any band member. Does help not to drink, smoke, inject, or snort your profits. These days, knowing business law or knowing someone who understands business law with an entertainment industry emphasis would help. It is also helpful if the band thing does not work out to be a legally savvy manager for someone else who understands music.

So the guy wants to be the lead guitarist, singer, drummer and lyricist? Ask him if he can pick maybe one or two of those.
