Gun Club!

I'm more of a collector than a shooter, but the occasional trip to the range is a ton of fun.
I have 2 WW2-dated British Enfields, (a #1 MKIII and a #4 Mk I), two WW2-dated Mosin's - a Finnish M39 and a Soviet M91/30, and lastly a repro British Brown Bess flintlock.
I used to also have a modded Chinese SKS that had to go.. and a HR-made M1 Garand.

That said, I'm not a fan of gun threads anymore. They do nothing good for Talkbass.

I have to agree with Jon though. Most of my gun discussions go on at Invalid Link Removed and most of my music discussions take place here. Funny how that works, eh?

Their first few albums are amazing, but the last few tanked. Jeffrey Lee Pierce lost it after a while, but damn, those first albums, espeically Fire of Love and Miami are awesome.

How do you like the SMLE? I love mine - 1943-dated and accurate as hell. I have a thing for those old bolt action jobbers.

I would definitely join, and would recommend that trolls be punished.

For now, just a Marlin .22, and a Mosin Nagant M44. Soon to be joining the list is either a Glock model 23 (.40 cal) or an HK P2000 in either .40 or .357 Sig.

oh, Mossburg 500 combo with a smooth bore slug barrel and a rifled slug barrel, plus the modified choke barrel for field work. Also, I still have the gun I got on my 12th birthday - an H&R single shot 12 guage (I was a pretty stout kid).

How do you like the SMLE? I love mine - 1943-dated and accurate as hell. I have a thing for those old bolt action jobbers.

Mine is a SMLE No.1 MkIII. 1944 Australia. I love it, its accurate and simple. The only problem is the last time I went shooting it the stock broke apart right under the magazine so I cant shoot it anymore. Ive got to buy a replacement stock and it will make it look like a R700.

Thanks! It was owned by my Great-Grandfather, a retired Brigadier General. He had a few really nice pieces that I have now. That's the thing some people don't understand. For some of us, our collections are a legacy. Mine started with my Great-Grandfather, continued with my Grandfather and Father, and is being furthered by me. It's more than a bunch of guns, it's history.

Very true. My brother has a hunting rifle that's a hand-me-down from my great grandfather. He had bought it for my grandfather when he was a kid so he could go hunting for the family. It's beat up and ugly but is priceless to us.
