Not that I'm trying to bump an over a month old thread, but I haven't seen that many gun threads that weren't already closed.

Since I usually only do bass-related conversation on TB and my firearm related conversation on the Beretta forums, first time in 8 years of being on here did I even think of both of my interests colliding on TB. Hmm, interesting....

Oh yeah, Toad man, you have a serious collection. For living in a state like NJ, how crazy strict are they with CC?

CC is basically impossible here for civilians. It's mostly restricted to ex-LEO's. IF you're related to a judge or something, you MIGHT be able to get one, but even then, it isn't guaranteed. Crazy strict is an understatement. :atoz:

Hopefully that will change someday.

I can't wait to move to a "free-state".

45 years in NJ is way past due date.

I'll be heading to Ft Dix on Sunday to do some range time with the wife. She wants an AR-15.

Here is the latest pic of my AR although I'm not a fan of the double mag after picking one up.

I feel bad for you guys in the less-than-free states. :hmm:

Here in KY, It took me about 4-6 weeks after I took the course and filed the ppwk. The other cool thing is that KY is an open carry state.

I'm in. I own a tactical Remington 870 shotgun modded with an adjustable stock and improved forgrip. I also own a stainless steel Ruger SR9 and a Remington .38 revolver. I'm looking into getting an FAL or an Mini-14. Just havn't decided yet.

I don't think I've ever seen a Remington revolver.

Re: FAL or Mini-14 - Mini-14 has a spotty history, and tends to function poorly well with non-Ruger magazines. The FAL (especially DSA) have a great reputation. OTOH, .223/5.56x45mm costs less to shoot than .308/7.62x51mm.

I had a Century FAL for several years and enjoyed it greatly. My BIL has a Mini-14 that I've seen choke a couple times with pretty light use.

You could split the difference and get an AK! :hiding:

Mini 14s have a spotty reputation, at best. I'd stick to the AR platform instead. I have a soft spot for the FAL. DSA makes a wonderful modern version, but they aren't cheap.
