Have a drink with guy, mend the bridge. You never know when you will need a ride, make sure he will stop and pick you up, not accelerate and veer towards you!

Pissed as in "pissed off" not tiddly, you snugglemuffin. I can say snugglemuffin because I'm not 'Merican either. Learn ya some 'Merican. jkExtremely pissed and shots may not be the best combination (except in the UK, where they are inevitable companions!).
However, if he's happy with his current band, I can't see why bygones can't be bygones.
Yeah, shots are well in order, but only if he can do shots and keep his meter. I'm very wary of letting drummers do shots myself. You run the risk of being accused of trying to sabotage his gig.

Absolutely extend the olive branch.
Life is way too short for anyone to waste time harboring ill will over a personel change in a band; a weekend warrior cover band at that, for God's sake (I looked at yout band's link).
Plus, if your "musical community" is like most, it's pretty much a rotating pool of players.
At some point in the future you may need to make use of his talents.
IMO you should save the vendetta mentality for something important, like somebody cutting you off in traffic.

Definitely give it a try, always good to bury the hatchet. he didn't have a beef with you, so no reason not to. Even if he did, coming over to say hi, hope things are going well, you miss playing with him, something like that, is great way to get him over it.
If he doesn't like the first shot, send up a second shot of syrup of ipecac...

I'd say go over and let him know how you feel about the whole deal. Avoid talking about the situation after you say your peace. Offer a drink and compliment his band. Life's too short for silly grudges.
This guy was pissed at phalex. I heard it on more than one occasion. I'd go over but be prepared to bail if tgings get ugly. There is a good chance they will.

Damn, i'm tempted to make the road trip to Grand Rapids just to see how things turn out. Plus, i'm always good for a few shots...
I'd go. You didn't fire him and you never had a problem with him. Besides, you making a friendly gesture might help him bury the hatchet a bit. In any case, don't get lured into telling secrets or business information that exposes a weakness in your band's abilities. Otherwise, I say, sure go make friends with the dude. Even if no one else does, at least he'll remember YOU as being a pretty cool cat. Never know what the future holds. You might need that friendship one day.
Well....... Tycobb73 was right on the money. I talked to the singer at the bar for a bit, I got shots for her, her drummer and myself, walked over with shots in hand, said "Hey man, how you doin?", he stood up, said "Alright." and walked out the back door.
So, I did a shot with the singer, left his where he was sitting, and went back across the street.
Their breaktimes were pretty well synced up with ours apparently. I went over there on every break we took, and they were on break every single time. I didn't want to piss him off mid gig, so I didn't go in. It would have been nice to hear them though.....
So, apparently, there's at least one person that I'm aware of that really doesn't like me.
