Had to put my dog down

Had the same thing happen to one of my Yellow Black Mouth Curs last Thursday night. My family and I were headed to Florida for my sons wedding. As we crossed the Mobile Bay bridge I got a call that she was on a neighbors porch and injured bad. Long story short, a freak storm had hit Baton Rouge. She got out and was hit by a car. Vet said her leg would have to go. I opted to put her down. RIP Lynny!!

Thanks brother and right back at you. My dogs go everywhere with me, and that particular Cur was my truck dog and my five year old son's pillow. Makes my gut hurt and I know yours is hurting too. Stay strong!

I sometimes wonder if I'm crazy loving my dogs the way I do. Then one of them comes up beside me while I'm surfing the web and nudges my hand off the mouse as if to say "gimme some ear scratchin' and lovin". Then I know I'm not crazy. Condolences on your loss IGotGas.

Thanks for your sentiments. I must agree with your thoughts as well. I feel as though, at times, my love for them is irrational. But they've provided so much to my family and me. They are not humans, but they are very much a part of who we are and all of our families!!
