Hadrien Feraud: new cd !

Hello Everyone, it is Hadrien ( the real one) a friend of mine brought this topic to my attention wich is why I'm here now. Modtly also because I m discovering a fan of mine has been seemingly creating an account using it to speak in my name. Okay, I don't know if I know you already, I really do appreciate the support, but please now I invite you to be yourself again please? Its all good, I AM HERE NOW, thank you
Now, I really wana thank very much everyone for the great compliments and support for my music, it fells very good you made my day:)
Last thing: @"WINGAMD". I know you right? I can't remember your name but I believe you re msg me on Facebook every now and then asking me for bass advices and even friendship too (? )Or maybe it's just someone that just looks verymuch like you. Anyways, Bro, you're allowed to have your own tastes ofcourse. But check this out, 1) my getto side will tell you to go.. "Sit down somewhere" to remain polite. 2) please, don't be stupid and use words such as " awefull" about my playing. Because this is only your opinion and prolly also a bit of anger because I blew you off and didnt remember you on FB or somethin.. Lol
Okay, now about my ego, you are RIGHT! Check this out: now you said what you said, we are going to meet one day and JAM, you and me only because obviously you ain't a pussy right ? . Nope you aint! It is going to be videotaped too. Lemme tell you my man, you better come up with 1) a good timing 2) great ears 3) a lot of musicality. Because I am going to go straight for the juggular on those 3, you may wana start practicing now if you think you lack it " a bit" because when I repost the footage on this very website, the only thing left for you to do will be signing OUT. This is appliable to all the other potential trolls by the way. I NEVER EVER was a troll in my life, including when I did not know any notes or scales on the neck yet. When somebody does something you can't do, RESPECT them or scramb if you don't dig the esthetic. OR just talk poopie and appear as a CISSY in front of everyone else who knows what's up. Period.

Thanks again to my supporters from the bottom of my heart:)

It was not me on facebook. My statement about you being "awful" was a bit harsh and immature. I really love the original Weather report material, and you added so much of your own take on the parts, that I, for what ever reason, thought it was my duty to comment. I also should have paid more attention to the title, Badia Boogie Woogie Waltz. This should have told me not to expect the original. For this bitter reaction, I appologize.

There are other threads where I have showed a positive attitude towards your playing. Most of the negativity was from an ignorance of your catalog of work. At the time, the videos I had seen on Youtube were only of you soloing and of your younger years. It is very hard to make an impression of a player when you only see them at their playing "busiest" moments. After seeing a lot of your newer group projects with Borlai, I completely changed my opinion, and at one time had an entire folder on youtube of stuff i found that I really liked. I also bought the Industrial Zen album because of your playing on it. Unfortunately, I deleted the folder after comments made by your apparent doppelganger (who really came across as arrogant, and projected an image of you that I did NOT want to support). I am really glad that was not the real you.

I don't know why I have been singled out so much in all of this, especially for a single comment made 3+ years ago. Artists and people are allowed to grow and change, and hopefully mature (in my case).

I really do enjoy your playing, but we are all entitled to an opinion, and even if we like an artist, we don't have to like everything they have ever made! The statements above, for example. At first listen, I didn't really like the vocals. They are still not my preference, but that is just a small portion of the music. It is also what you heard in your head, your art, and not my place to criticize. I was just simply stating my opinion, like every member on this forum has done probably at least once.

If we ever got a chance to Jam, I would take it, no matter how stupid you made me look. I am not on your level, and with my hand in life, will never find the time to be, but, if ever given the opportunity, would still love to jam just for the learning experience alone.

There is much more I could say, but it probably isn't necessary. I stewed for a long time on comments made about MY comment, and it has been a learning experience in humility if nothing else.

Now I have to start searching for all those youtube videos again....

How did this thread not become TB gold? One of these Hadrien's is a fake account and if it is the first one that means somebody has been posing as him for a decade now.

For the record, I found both posts extremely off-putting so if either one is real I'm totally steered away from Hadrien Feraud. They are both rather petty and I really hope they are both fraud accounts by some deranged fan.

@Bryan R. Tyler can we get an IP check in aisle three if you're not too busy?

*sigh* Old memories. One sockpuppet of this 'HADRIEN FERAUD' user was already banned way back in the day - some 5 and a half years back, in fact.

If any of these guys is real or not is anybody's guess, but the language and - more importantly - the tone suggests that both 'HADFERAUD84' and 'HADRIEN FERAUD' might be the one and the same. I do remember there being some proof (from that time 5 years back) that the latter was, indeed, the real guy. He was incredibly condescending back then as well and ended up sending me an almost laughably demeaning PM in a tone quite similar to what we've seen in this thread, apparently because I'd stated that -

Personally, I don't think he's that great. The guy's speedy, but I don't seem to hear him do anything too special or unique. He may become a good, maybe even great bassist by some measures of the yardstick, but he won't be a pioneer. All IMHO :)

I too sincerely hope that this is some lunatic.

Something else I found -

actually, mattgally was a member here, until he was banned for trolling, along with another member who was doing the same thing whilst sharing a few posting/registration ip's with hadrien feraud. although the story was they were "Room mates", they both appeared to be sock puppets for HF to me to be honest, and this behavior doesn't really dissuade me of that either.

/remembers all that has happened on this website, by every member, since the last century

The thread where the above was posted by JT is also quite an interesting read.

Both are Hadrien. And yes, he's had a couple other accounts in the past.

Hadrien is one of my favorite players, but is clearly very, very sensitive to criticism. I learned to take harsh criticism on a regular basis back in art school. It's difficult, and requires a sacrifice of ego, but I feel it's important and ultimately very beneficial. If you're going to put your art out there, you need to be able to take strong criticism without it hurting your feelings or affecting your ego. There's nothing to gain from being defensive, but almost always something to gain from really thinking about harsh criticism you may not initially agree with.

Oh wow... if these are both the same guy he must have some kind of serious mental issue. I agree that you need to take criticism if you are putting anything out there. There is nothing out there that appeals to everybody so somebody, somewhere, will hate it.

On an aside, I am astounded that he can have the time to be a world-class bassist and troll Talkbass.

That may simply be a issue of not remembering a password. Hadrien travels a lot I'm sure, so if he ends up on a hotel computer or something, he may have just started a new account rather than emailing for his login info. I'm just spitballing though.

Oh, I didn't think the two accounts was the sign of a mental issue. I thought the extremely aggressive and confrontational attitude combined with dredging up comments from years ago as well as the fact he seems to acknowledge his old account as some kind of fraudulent account were signs of a mental issue.

Obviously the same person posting under different names. Same style of punctuation - the added, intentional spelling mistakes to the latter posts don't fool me. Also, last login of the first "Hadrien" happened the day the new one signed up.
I just remembered a Hadrien-defensive post from another sock puppet account a couple of years ago. The first post from this account went something like, "Hi, I am a female, not Hadrien Feraud..." Very entertaining, I must say!

I've just witnessed how a "tropical storm" called "Cadenza" passed through one thread in the General Instructions Forum and created quite a few "tornadoes" among highly educated musicians.

How PERSONAL SHOULD that "magic" word, "Cadenza" be to some Highly Educated Musicians ready to "fight to death" in order to figure out if Coltrane used that word or not.:crying: ?

Another thread about "female bass players" wreaked a havoc in the Miscellaneous Forum thread,
"Who is a better bass player Kate Davis or Tal?":rage:
The same question.
How PERSONAL could that "Tal-or-Kate" argument be to SO MANY musicians (including myself) in order to get SO EMOTIONAL about it? :banghead:

Here is what I'm trying to get across.

We can get SO EMOTIONAL about and SO EASILY AFFECTED by things that are SO FAR AWAY from us, things that TRULY do NOTHING to us, etc...

I remember, a year ago there was a lonely thread posted where the OP was asking for help with "what to play over some"difficult" chords".
There were NO responses, and the OP made a comment that was interpreted my me as "Hey, TB, shame on you. No responses, you don't want to help me, etc..."
I said to myself, "Why don't you listen to that sound byte "sketch" and try to help that OP."
To make it short.
After a few my postings with specific Ideas, with the sheet music,
I WAS PERSONALLY ATTACKED BY THE OP:confused: o_O, as some kind of mean spirited music rule enforcer, etc...

Should I recount my posting about the Great Stanley Clarke and Hiromi playing, "Under the Bridge"?
Somehow, I got SO EMOTIONAL:spit: :crying: defending Stanley Clarke against NUMEROUS TB members.
Why did I get so EMOTIONAL:banghead: about things that were SO FAR AWAY from me, things that could not even PAY or lower my Netflix bill?

(P.S. SHOULD I VISIT THE THREAD, "POST YOUR VIDEOS", and express my opinion?
I KNOW THE REACTION I WOULD GET.)

When I re-read my old and EMOTIONAL postings about things that are SO far away from me, from my family, from my bills, from my HEALTH, etc.,
I think,
"Why was I SO STUPID and said this or that. Why did I get SO EMOTIONAL, etc...?"
But I SAID IT, I WROTE IT. I was TOO emotionally attached to things that have NOTHING to do with me.

Now, this thread is about Hadrien's PERSONAL MUSIC, Hadrien's PERSONAL life, (check all those threads "Why John McLaughlin or Chick Corea fired Hadrien, etc...")

That "PERSONAL" thing always has MORE EMOTIONS attached.
Were Hadrien's comments EMOTIONAL? YES.
Were Hadrien's words/wordings PERFECT? NO.
There is an expression, "You cannot eat boiling soup."

I've just expressed my opinion and WILL NOT participate in this "Condemn Hadrien" discussion.
My Personal opinion about Hadrien:

Currently, Hadrien is the most advanced ELECTRIC bass player in the world.
Is Hadrien the "sweet talker" like some slick politician? NO.

That's it.
Please continue with your "interesting" discourse.

He was a very nice guy, and one of the best jazz guitarists to ever live or play. If not for Wes Montgomery (who preceded him) Joe would definitely be considered the best ever.

Not to go too far off topic, but check him here with NHOP on upright

Oh, I know his work well, and I have only heard positive things about him as a person. But I sometimes wonder how some of these "all time greats" would have navigated "teh intanets" and what its existence would have done to their reputation. Players' personalities are certainly a lot more on display these days, with direct and public communication with everyone from fans to colleagues. It's not just band members, producers and stagehands that are responsible for spreading rumors about them - anyone can see for themselves exactly what was said and when it was said by checking out a forum on the internet or a YouTube comment. Combine public exposure with a massive ego and even a slight delusional streak, well you've got a bad reputation heading your way.
