halftime

That's a bit heavy....... No?

You've obviously never seen the Flag stomped out of hate and anger up close and in-person.

And......

Am I the only one who sees the irony in people getting upset about artists applying a little bit of 'Artistic Freedom' to the Nation Anthem of the United States? Land of The Free??
First point, yes I have.
Second point, Never said she shouldn't be allowed to do it. Just said I didn't like it. There is a big difference there.

I think one of the most Impressive halftime performances ever, was Prince (Even though I'm not really a Prince "fan"), playing in a pouring rain in 2007.

I'm surprised nothing shorted out, no one busted their arse, and no one was electro-mo-cuted.

I completely agree. It was the ultimate "The Show Must Go On" performance. It should have been cancelled. With that much juice out there, it was amazing someone didn't get fried! But he soldiered on, and made it work.

He did a lot more than make it work! That might have been the best halftime show of all time! I was very impressed with that one.

I thought she took less liberties with it than most do. For my money, the best renditions I've ever heard are:

1. Whitney Houston
2. Dixie Chicks (very close to a tie for 1st)
3. Lada Gaga last night

Some people make that thing sound stale and labored. Gaga sang it like she really was proud to be an American. I thought it was fantastic!

I thought she did a great job too. I was surprised that it was as good as it.
