Hamer 5-string CruiseBass

To use a really painful cliche, that's a negatory on the punk slammin' thing. At my age I'd be more worried about breaking a bone than breaking a guitar :bored:

I want to use this bass for chord work - more like classical guitar and maybe even some cello pieces. Last I checked, Andre Segovia and Yo-Yo Ma weren't into thrash:roflmao: so no obligatory body slamming there.

Anyway, kidding aside, I was looking at that Nordstrom Blade J pickup and now that I've been getting such great results from the DiMarzio P-pickup, I may look at their offerings as well.
Nordstand Blades are single coils designed to cancel hum when used in pairs. They're not humbuckers.

If you want to lose the hum in a PJ setup, you cannot use a single coil J.

From Nordstrand, you'd want their NJ5S Hum-Cancelling

You could use any Dimarzio 5 string J pickup, they are all humbuckers.
