Hammersmith K waitlist club

Damn I feel sorry for all involved in this. This is exactly how it always starts and then this post will still be griping 2 years from now, with somebody still "hoping". I'd take legal action if necessary to get my $ back NOW! I mean like yesterday.
So...(sigh) best of luck to y'all.

2 fingers got his. It was a wait, but it arrived.

I'd like to take this opportunity to poor one out for the bass I sold to fund this unfortunate misadventure.

His wasn't a K. He's having to build ours in tandum with all the regular orders he receives. From what I understand his supplier hasn't been able to send him anything for the K builds yet. The fact his regular customers are getting their stuff doesn't do much to ease my concern. If anything it makes me think he's going to be very overloaded once he has to start working on ours.
I also want to reiterate it's not the wait that any of us take issue with. shag, I've been waiting even longer than this on my cab to ship. But I'm cool with it because the owner of the cab company very clearly demonstrates the level of concern he invests in all of his customers. There is no excuse for leaving this many uncertain customers in the dark for this long. I had so many issues just trying to get my invoice for this build. Marko promised me personaly he wouldn't do exactly what he's doing right now. Not the kind of company I can get psyched on repping.

I understand your points completely. I think Marko is failing us with his lack of communication. As I said before, I think almost all of us would be fine with the delay, as long as we had SOME type of feedback from Marko. I have no idea why he thinks it's better to just ignore us.

However, this is the waitlist club thread. It's pretty much for people who ordered the bass. MEKer doesn't have any skin in the game, but he's coming in here and saying GET THE PITCHFORKS! TAKE LEGAL ACTION! He said that 2 years from now no one will have a bass. So I was mainly responding to him saying that 2Fingers received his. It was a long wait, but it did arrive, so his prognosticating and legal advice doesn't really seem warranted.

Honestly, has anyone in here asked for a refund?

Not me.....Yet......

I talked to Marko 2 weeks ago on facebook. The news was essentially that there is no news. He's waiting on the factory to deliver bodies and necks, and he can't really do anything to speed them along at this point. He also told me he would try to check in on talkbass, and that hasn't happened. I get the impression that he's not excited to log in here and post no news, and he's afraid he will end up answering tons of questions and suck up a lot of time. Not that thats a very good excuse to give no updates for almost 2 months.

Wow, I really appreciate that informative update we all got...

Good luck, guys. The time has come for me to count my losses. Formal refund request has been sent. Anticipating that he will ignore it. Really wish I would have listened to my instincts on this one. Should have seen it coming back in February...

I've already got another bass picked out. The only thing I'm bummed about is that I have to wait for a refund before I can pick it up. To be honest I don't feel bad. The guy clearly isn't that invested in his company so I sincerely doubt he's going to flinch over unhappy customers. There are countless independent companies who love their customers so why waste our business on a dude who very clearly demonstrates he doesn't give a sh*t about us?

Best of luck to all involved - I truly , hope he [ Marko ] can swing getting the refunds back to you guys in a timely fashion and hasn't sent all those funds to China in the original attempt to pull this deal off . I saw a similar thing happen in a DIYMA car audio group buy where the audio designer was above board and communicated well during the long wait - people eventually , got their high end tweeters and were very happy . The designer though had been pushed around by the Chinese manufacturing plant - way beyond the original agreed upon delivery date but it did work out alright in the end . Kelly .....

Jeez, another small builder train wreck?

Sadly, events like this cast a shadow of doubt on all custom builders, many of which may be standup folks.

Good luck to all who got tangled up in this mess.
This sounds like the very real and sudden "fear of success" and/or "fear of failure" has in fact, possibly become a stark reality for the business owner and not dealt with in the best of ways. Or, just poor judgement.

I'm hoping for all of those invested (the company, not necessarily the purchasers) that common sense is pointed out and wins out. I think a very direct and diplomatic actual, and not implied, response from the owner would satisfy most of the surfaced reservations here. I wish him the best. It's most likely a very tough time being caught in the middle of supply, demand and customer care.
