So you both got responses to your refund requests?

Did you ask any other information, such as "any updates"?

Here's the two emails that Marko sent me....

1st one is complete except for my name....

Got your email. I understand your position and will do whats needed to make right. It seems a few of you have teamed up to cancel together which is fine, but I'll be able to better respond tomorrow or Monday when I have the order info in front of me and can handle things in the correct order. Some are more late than others and its fair to do the refunds in the same order as resources allow.

Talk soon,
-Marko

I replied that as far as I was concerned there was no teaming up and that my cancellation was entirely independent......

I also stated that if he could come up with some kind of assurances as to info updates etc. that I'd still be interested in a K bass....

2nd one....

Sorry, I got 3 emails within moments of each other so it seemed like a concerted thing. The basses are coming regardless, I just cant guarantee when so if you guys are pissed enough to cancel your orders and want refunds, I will do that - not simply because they're late but because you have a legit gripe in not having any communication. If when the basses are in and you still want one (after all other orders completed of course) I'll honor the discounted TB prepay price and we can do the deal then. Otherwise, please accept my apology for seemingly not caring about your business. It's not the case but it's what you came to believe and thas my fault.

Thanks, -Marko

I wasn't convinced by this mail that Marko was intending to be more communicative and so I replied with a confirmation of my original cancellation and requested that my money be refunded asap.....

This is truthfully what transpired and I have no intention of getting involved in a slanging match concerning any rights and wrongs of my communication with Marko....

Hope this helps someone

Received my refund today as he said I would. If Marko hadn't handled this situation so childishly I would probably look into getting a K down the road once they've managed to improve supplier relations. There's no excuse for hiding from your customers while you're holding onto their money. Too many hard working companies going the extra mile to tolerate that kinda BS.

Delighted to hear that you got your refund in a timely manner....

Hope the rest of us get refunds soon as well.....

It was all so unnecessary.....Sincerely hope that Marko gets himself sorted in the near future....

Just joining this thread as I was searching for the original thread to see the last updates, and stumbled upon this thread. Seems disheartening, I also paid my deposit early on.
Not giving up yet, as I wasn't in a hurry anyway, and I understand the problems with developing a new model in anything, but I hate how I'm feeling after reading this.

I'm optimistic.

I'm optimistic.

I think all remaining customers should be. My Hammersmith is a great instrument, and Marko did go the extra mile for me when I ordered. He has been a strong presence at winter NAMM, is shipping other models with regularity, and has a solid relationship with Nordstrand. I will say that at the very beginning of Hammersmith, Marko was incredibly responsive, and that doesn't seem to be the case anymore, at least not with regularity.

For what it's worth, I don't believe that there are any shady intentions from anyone at Hammersmith. I'm sure Marko is equally as disappointed as you guys are, but something went sideways lately with the communication, and hopefully that can be fixed. Maybe the lesson is that offering so many options and variations with an over seas supplier is a risk? I don't know, but I'd love to see this resolved and watch the company flourish.

Was told on the 31st it would be a few days for the refund. Have not yet received it.

I was told something similar.....Not a word since......

I did not expect this. The poor communication I did expect. The delay in getting the basses I did expect. A delay in giving the refund, I did not expect.

Have to give you guys props for investing in a guy's business and taking that risk. When someone is super super responsive in communication, it never bodes well for me. It's simply impossible to keep that type of chatter up long term, and that "wow, amazing service" feeling will quickly turn if communications go dark. That is what is happening here, and it seems like a common theme with these indie bass builders.

To me, the music business and words "prepay" and "down payment "just do not work together, unless it is a builder with a serious track record. It sucks, but seems like these types of threads happen a decent amount.
