In the FWIW category, I'm still thinking about putting down a deposit... and I certainly understand the logic for practical manufacturing purposes but the main appeal of the SS for me is the overall reach and length issue. I generally have to play sitting down in a fairly space constrained area - so they are pretty important considerations.

Not never, just not now as part of our first batch order.

Further, the barnboard - for now at least - is a Jesse Keeler specific thing and otherwise unavailable.

We'll be bringing in some unfinished bodies from now on to allow us to do some custom stain and/or finish work, so a different aged wood thing can maybe be done.
.

Thanks Marco - I'll keep my eyes peeled for more shots of the 2tsb and the tb blue, then. Considering no custom-making would be needed, could we get a TB blue with black pg/trc?

Sitting down, the bass may be a little unbalanced for you, depending on how you sit and/or which knee you rest on. The lower curves of the body are a little closer to the bridge, moving the balance point a little - but this would exist even on the shorter version of the 30" that you'd prefer.

Yes, we can easily mic and match pickguards of different colors for you. I think we'll have Black, White, Cream and Tort available.

What will the regular price be on these?
Curious for those of us who can't get the deposit in time for the 28th.

edit.. nevermind, saw they are 1095 on fb.
That's tentative, based on our discussions with dealers. It's tough dealing in small volume but trying to play in the same sandbox as the bigger volume manufacturers that fill most dealer walls. The bigger guys would build them for a lot less than we do, and perhaps have a sharper dealer cost allowing dealers to be in the ~$1000 range. Or not - maybe they sell it for as much as it can go for anyways. But in our case, the sort of minimum number we have to get pushes the street price up a little from the $990 we sort of ballparked at the beginning. Still, almost all of the dealers/buyers compared it to similar basses like the new Reverend Wattplower ($1395), Lakland Decade ($1295), an any new Ric ($1800+) and thought that $1095 was a good number to come in under the others with, as long as we continue to use the Hipshot hardware, American made Lace pickups, high grade gig bag, etc... Almost no one is carrying other vintagey type brands like Eastwood, that are fully offshore built and a little cheaper. We might end up $1095 on the bound body types and $1050 on the regular body, or something like that. i really don't know where this ends up, I just know there is a lot of interest in it. Half of our FB sales are overseas, and even one in here is going to Australia. It might be the Sept/Oct batch that is the first that really goes to dealers, based on actual production samples going out in summer to convince more to sign up with us.

Marko, I sent you a PM yesterday regarding my invoice.

P.S. I still think you are missing out by not offering red, I think this looks pretty sweet. As I mentioned earlier I really love surf green, but I would consider this. (If you would like me to not post this let me know and I'll remove it. I'm not trying to step on your toes)

Yes, so it seems several of you are into the red. I guess I could bite the bullet and order both metallic gold and red, but I also have to be careful about ordering too much stuff. At this point I'm at 120 necks and bodies for the Ks, with several finishes and a few neck types. It's on the complicated side as it is for the OEM.

The other colors are metallics... are we talking dark metallic red, or candy apple red (also metallic) or stick to a trans red with some grain showing, since the only other woodgrain type is the 2T burst?

Also... what do you guys think of the regular body being the K4 and the bound type be either K4B or K4 deluxe? I was kinda thinking of keeping the deluxe designating for possible American/Canadian built instruments, if we go down that road later.

I'd say a dark trans red would be stellar, similar to the old EB0s.

So here's why I think red should be an available color,
Because it's available in black, white, more white, green, blue, brown, and brown/black.
Also, because suggestions for colors were taken from a thread which I never even saw, and wasn't up very long.

So if you guys can get excited about new exciting variations of white and brown that's great, but I can't.

Would non-matching (ie: black) headstocks be a fair compromise? I mean, if we did both the metallic gold AND the red body options, bit then did the TB specials with black headstocks, what would the groups opinion on that be? That makes things a ton easier on my end, and with our OEM.
