Hammersmith K4 - TalkBass Special Model

What finish should the TalkBASS special model be? (select two)

FWIW, I voted for Rootbeer Metallic because it's closest to the red color I was after, but the Pelham Blue Firebird on the previous page is growing on me, too.
I've never owned anything with a metallic finish before... I'd be worried about it being too flashy for my more reserved sensibilities. The Rootbeer example on the same page looks pretty good, though.

@MarkoYYZ , what's the plan for the fingerboard inlay material?

The only one that would come with inlayes would be the White Tux, in which case it's a black acrylic. If/when we do pearloid inlays, it's a synthetic pearloid, as we don't use real MOP or Abalone. Hope that helps.

Order placed! Guys, I played these at NAMM and was blown away. The 2 puckup was my favorite, but I tend to play w both pickups on on all my basses. The Alumitines are fat and warm but not wooly or woofy if that makes any sense. They just sound BIG!

Ok, I cast my vote... TB (with binding???) and the Rootbeer with binding. Honestly I would've picked the white/binding over the rootbeer if it had dots rather than blocks... I think blocks make it look kinda heavy/clunky. But that's just me...

I'm thinking REAL HARD about a deposit... really trying to get rid of instruments rather than add, but I've been admiring this instrument since the NAMM photos. As a long time lover of Guilds, recent new Rick purchaser, and lover of short scales (my first bass which I still have after 40 years is a SS Guild JS1), I'm finding it nearly irresistible as those influences are pretty evident, but put together in an original way...

Sorry for the delay guy, things have been a little nuts here. I got super sick on the weekend (Norovirus) and it's been a heavy week with lighting work. We didn't get videos shot last week with Remco as we had a mixup with the time he needed to be at the airport... 15:50 vs 5:50 means we lost 2 hours that we thought we'd have.

In any case, both Josh and I have been messing around with the Black 33.25" K that we have here, and I've started messing around with video editing software. We'll be posting more of these as we figure it out, but we'll certainly be creating some more pro grade clips as well once we have a player or two visit and can shoot with better equipment than my Samsung G5.

The clip below is just Josh noodling around. I asked him to keep playing the same riff while I cycled through some of the tone models in the practice amp we have here. The tone on the bass is wide open and the amp is set flat in terms of EQ, so it's just the various tone models that you hear changing the sound. It starts clean, then goes through models like Brit Grit, Dirty FNA, Bassman, 80s Session, Disco Freak, etc... Nothing fancy, but a start:

I have no idea. Probably just as easy to put it on YouTube and link it? I guess that kind of defeats the purpose of a TB limited order though if it is viewable by the general public.

I can't wait to get the spacing and scale specs on the fivers when you narrow them down.

Good luck with this first run.

Next up will be some better renders of the finishes that look to be winner here.

We're going to run all three of TB Blue, White Tux and Rootbeer Metallic, all with bound bodies.

I have a special request from a sorta special player for Olive Drab (army green) with binding, so there may be two or three of those available only.
