hardshell case for headless bass found

Hello everyone,

I'm posting this in the hope that it will save someone else the frustration & digging around I went through.

Hard cases for headless bases are as rare as hen`s teeth. After ages of looking & generally finding nothing, I decided to buy a gun case for my antique Cort Steinberger copy. The few "legit" cases I found were hideously expensive and/or so battered they were no better than the original case I've had since 85, which is now falling apart.

I got this one for $95 CAD, which is about $17.29 US these days.

The interior is "pick-and-pluck" cubes - very easy to take out to fit the instrument. I plan to line it with plush later, but here's a photo of the bass inside the case so you can see the fit.

Here's the details:
- Plano All Weather Tactical 42" case, model # 108442
- 43x15x5 inches interior dimensions
- Locking
- "Weatherproof". It has a seal, and I admit that I am somewhat tempted to chuck it in the pool to test it.

The only oddball thing is that there's a buckle/clamp on the bottom, which makes it a bit weird standing on end. (I store my basses in hardshell cases in a closet, standing on end.)

There's a label on the front about the size of a bumper sticker, which is easy enough to conceal if the "All Weather Tactical" thing is problematic for you.

Otherwise it just looks like a black plastic equipment case.
