Hartke Appreciation Thread

hhead.jpg

just picked this up...

with a little pedal help i have found a very nice fat woody tone i have to say i am appreciating it very much!!!

I've had a few weeks with my new rig....3500-pro2200. I figured this was as good a place as any to give a quick review. The cab itself is a great peice of work. vertical design is very usefull and takes a relatively small footprint in a room. The tone of the cab is killer.... Very mid/lowmid oriented but paired with the 3500 you can achieve some really clean highs. Very loud for setup of this size.... i couldn't imagine needing anymore headroom than what it offers. Again... very very punchy ,barky azz mids ,and heaps of lowend. I think Hartke discontinued these cabs though... bummer, really nice cabs. Heres a pic.... http://s117.photobucket.com/albums/o61/billythebassist/?action=view&current=018.jpg

 I already have the 115XL and I was wondering how the pairing with a 2.5XL would sound. I'm not trying to decide between the 2.
I meant I'd consider pairing your 115xl with a 2.5xl, which may suit you better that getting a 210xl. Sorry, we seem to have crossed wires. In post #39 you asked about pairing a 2.5xl with your 115xl. In post #41, you mention the 210xl instead.

I have a 115xl, 210xl and a 2.5xl. The 2.5xl would make a better combination with your 115xl than a 210xl would.

:) Cool, I've been considering getting a 2.5xl and now I have more confidence in such a purchase.

I've been considering getting a 4.5XL to go under my new 2.5XL. That thing sounds so great. I hate talking up equipment, but I am really impressed with how it sounds. I put it through it's paces on top of my home made 6x10 last night at band practice. I got some great sounds out of the whole rig. The mids is where this cab really shines. It rolls off a little high end compared to a cab with a horn loaded tweeter, but it actually sounds better this way. Makes me wish I could find a 6x10 (or even a 8x10) with those drivers. It would be nice to hear what that sounded like, and might even make me do a big change-up, rig wise.

I have a Hartke A35 combo amp--35 watts into a 10" aluminum speaker. I use it as my practice amp at the house and for small jams. I have actually gigged with it a couple of times, just as a monitor--the DI out went to the board, but it has some issues getting heard over 50watt Marshall half stacks. ;) But, did a light jazz combo gig with it and it was wonderful. One of my favorite pieces of gear.

I use an A35 as well... it is also one of my favorite pieces of gear. Excellent for small, quiet sessions or recording. It's a killer little combo.

:o Thanks, I've always wondered about that combination.
