I played the 3500 with the transporter 4x10 and 1x15 for years while actually up until a couple days ago. I loved the combination.
With the use of a sonic maximizer I was able to get a great tone. Loud enough for huge stages and low enough for small. The big stages DI/mic you anyway and you can pump the bass sounds through the monitor.
4x10 by itself pretty good. 1x15 ok. Together GREAT!
my only problem with it was the onboard DI kind of sucked.

That's promising to hear, I got a great deal on the head and plan on pairing it with some XL cabs.
if you are pairing with the XL that is awesome. I didnt feel like lugging them around plus the price was a bit high at the time.
My 3500 was all I needed today, ran an Ampeg 8x10 at an outdoor gig down in DC. Well, a little credit to the new EMG pup in my Precision too!
I steer away from Ampeg (for no reason other than everyone uses it) but I must admit I love the way the 3500 sounds with the 8x10. Its so punchy yet great low end! Its really is a good pairing.

Do you have a minute to describe the tone you're getting from the lh500? I have the Kickback 12 and it is truly remarkable. I'd be curious how the lh500 compares with it.
I was looking at the lh500 for my studio use, too. Is there any fan noise, hum or hiss from that amp as VERY quiet levels?

There is no doubt in my mind that the Rick + Hartke = Heaven. The first time I played either was a Rick into a Kickback 12. It was tremendous. Nice choices.

the KickBack12 is still one of my favourite combos that Hartke does and I did have one for a long while.
the LH500, IMHO, is the new standard for the Hartke line. An amazing sounding amp. A little more "old school" than the KickBack but extremely flexible and regardless of the bass I plug into it, I get the tone of that bass.
the DI is ok, and with the horn off on the HX series cabs there is absolutely no hiss, even with the horn on and the treble cranked there is next to no noise. AND the fan.... not even an issue! super quiet.
for the price (and even if it was double) I really feel there isn't a head that touches it.

, but even with 'loyalties to Larry' aside, it's a great new product on the market.

Thank you soooo much, PDavyduck. I have a gig coming up in a month and had sold my old rig just a few months back. Now, I'm scrambling to replace it and the LH series heads really caught my eye. I need ears to know which way to turn.

The cab btw is an Ashdown but MAG 115, but the speaker blew, so I replaced it with a celestion driver
I've been combining a Hartke 215BXL with a 410XL but through an SVT4 PRO amp. I found the DI through the 3500 a little weak also, but going through the SVT4's DI Dry seems to cut it.
I split the channels and direct the lows to the 215's and giving full range to the 410's which can emulate the Ampeg 810 sound when I want it.
