Hartke LH500

I'm curious about grabbing one of these based on the price and power. I wouldn't mind comparing it to my PB500, which I still have to say is the best work horse for the price I got it at ($300 with a VT 1x15).

Anyone use the LH500 through a 4 ohm 2x12 Avatar?

Hey, I am curious as to what kind of warranty comes with these amps. I'm not sure if this was covered because I didn't read all the threads. I'm sure this is variable depending on the circumstance.

I am thinking of getting the LH500 but there aren't any in stock for me to try in my neck of the woods (Sydney downunder) so would like some advice. I have 2 cabs ; a VX210 (250w) & Ashdown 1 X 15 (250W). Will they be well suited to this amp ? Im playing mostly blues/rock using Rickenbacker 4004 & 4003. Also have a Jazz.
The limiter on the amp, is that like a compressor?
A few posts here mention alot of noise & having to return the amp, was this issue solved with the replacement amp or is this a common problem with this model ?
Looking foreward to your feedback before I hand over the hard earned folding stuff.

Hey Ric - I've had mine nearly 2 years now with no drama. I play both acoustic duo stuff with it and modern hard rock, bordering on metal and it's great for both. No noise. I think it would be fine with the two cabs mentioned and should be plenty loud enough. I'm in Tassie mate - if you want I could throw you my mobile number if you want to know specific stuff.

have you rehearsed or gigged using just the 1x15 cab, without blowing it?

Hey guys I've gigged with my LH500 and my Hydrive 1x15 for about a year and a half. 90% of my gigs it's been enough power. The other 10% I've cranked my amp to where I felt I shouldn't go any louder, but those were stupid, stupid gigs one was outdoors with insanely loud monitors, the other was a hardwood floor gym and the sound engineer may as well have been blind and deaf.

I'm curious if I ran another cab maybe a 2x10? How much extra power I'd get from 8ohms down to 4.

Ricoshea - depends on the type of gig mate. I usually do my acoustic gigs with the 15(one of them being with 2 acoustic guitars and drums - fairly loud). It's just a little warmer. I have never done a rock gig with it but depending on how loud you need it to be I think it would be OK. It would definitely sound better I think with your 2x10 as well. I have the Hartke 1x15 and the 4x10, and for rock gigs I've always used at least the 4x10 just cause I like the sound a little more.
BillyIVbass - you definitely get more volume if you can run the cabs bridged (I think this is right terminology). Straight into the 1x15 you get a max output of 350 watts but if you link the 1x15 to another 8 ohm cab (i.e. a 2x10 or 4 x10) you are now running at 500 watts. Just make sure your extra cab is capable of this output so you dont blow the speakers.

I have compared the LH1000 to the B1500, and the Carvin is more clean/clear, and the Hartke is more warm/round. Both are great heads, and both get quite loud.

Help please!

I've looked and I can't seem to find my question answered:-(

I was looking to run a LH500 through a Hartke 4x10 8ohms rated at 300W. I'm not going to be cranking particularly loud. Will the cab be OK with this head?
