Has anybody tried Bassurgery?

Heard about these basses some years ago, just wondered if anybody ever bought them or played them.

I think they look weird and are VERY expensive!!!

Anybody out there tried or bought them?

Wow, you find a new builder every day, Never seen those before, but I like it. I could live without the headstock, but it shows that the style if headstock that (I dare not speak his cheap $300 Custom Bass Name) makes CAN look good when done right.

I used to have two of them. A 4 string and a 5 string. They were okay but I sold them last year and used the money to buy 14 Sadowskys.

Everthing there looks possible, even if obsessive and unnecessary. How do you account for the two magazine reviews, and the existence of two instruments for photographs?

Bah! I don't have time to READ about basses I can't afford, I just look at them, drool a bit, and move on. I was a bit surprised that 2 threads came up recently asking about these basses, both posters being newbies and both mentioning that they saw adds for these several years ago and looking for anyone who knew anything about it.

Maybe I'm dumb... I can't see anything to indicate it's a fake. I never heard of them before, but I'd never heard of Benevente or Ritter before I read Talk Bass.

Agreed. A comedic scam of Microsoft's site would have enough interest and audience to make it worthwhile. But a bass maker? A one-page spoof of Wish, perhaps. A full site, with a purchased domain name, two actual basses, and fake reviews in the formats of known magazines? I don't think so.
