I just got my first sponsor! Through no work of my own though, it came through stream elements, which if I remember correctly is the thing that lets you have your chat on screen while you stream. I was annoyed that I had to make an account on a third party site to have chat show up on screen, but maybe this is a benefit?
They sent out a shotgun blast email with a sponsor so I was able to sign up for that. They want me to stream a game though, so I'm not sure how excited I feel about the program. I want to build a community around music, streaming games isn't at all what I had in mind. I don't mind plugging the game, so I suppose this is a matter of talking the talk and walking the walk. If the game sucks I can stop playing and stop plugging it.
Maybe I can use this as a kind of resume building thing, I can show that I'm willing to plug during my streams, and if I get anybody to play the game I can have metrics to show for it.
Now I just have to figure out when I'll have time to play this game. Most of my free time I practice, not sure how I'll squeeze this in.
