Double Bass Has anyone tried Schertler Side

Hi

I´we seen some comments on schertler Pub,wich seems to be really DB friendly piece of ecuipment,but has anyone tried out the lighter (and easier to carry) Side?

and how are SR Technology and Schertler related? is there a big quality difference?

Side is an extension speaker or an active loudspeaker as you know, you need a preamp to be able to use it. Together with a preamp is not cheaper than Unico, and weigh the same, plus cables, etc. For me Unico seemed better, even better than PUB280+a preamp.

I use Unico for smaller gigs and Unico+Bass for louders, but I'll try Side as well, because Bass is not exactly what I want. I would need more volume but the same sound as Unico, and Bass amplifies only the low range. Also, to increase the volume (using Unico+Bass together) I must use the low cut function of Unico, but it changes the sound. Bass doesn't amplifies exactly the frequencies I cut on Unico. So the sound is not the same. I would prefer the same sound louder, and probably it works better with Unico+Side without cutting lows. BTW I can highly recommend Unico - it sounds as good as AER amps but costs less and easier to carry.
