Has Gretsch been lying to us for over a decade?

Yeah... uhm wow dude. I don't think anyone here cares about your senate bid. They meant the diaspora of politics in general I think. You're saying "fraud", but I think that is pretty much been ascertained that actual "fraud" is highly unlikely.
Also just as a point, the reason why Fender may not be saying anything about any of this might be because they have contacted the CM and are working to find a solution or at least someone else to point a finger at. Honestly Gretsch could have listed these pickups as Dynasonic Bass pickups and probably sold more of them.
what does politics have to do with any of this? why even bring this up or mention it? should i do a google search of every person on here and post their personal history, mention their political party, and why their views may have ulterior motives to a niche gretsch pickup issue in some weird fantasy vacuum?
If you don't care why post about it? You're attacking the messenger here, my personal life and politics have nothing to do with the fact that Fender has known about this issue for 2 years and done nothing to rectify it.

Really should be trying to keep this constructive and on-topic, but it's careening a little dangerously at the minute. Energies should really be focused on trying to get some sort of recognition/acknowledgement/word from FMIC. Don't ask me *how* since that's beyond my pay grade, but that feels like the logical "next" thing that needs to happen for this topic to be moved forwards

Why should people who bought this instrument and find some aspect of it problematic due to a long-running misrepresentation have to take a financial hit by selling it or buying new pickups?
Please stop and take the high road. There is no place for bickering on and on.
I mean at this point yeh. Buying this bass now and expecting humbuckers would be pretty dumb. And if you already own one and it bothers you, sell it and avoid Gretsch products or replace the pickups with your own money knowing you got ****'d every time you play it.

I read the first page, and being curious and impatient, went to the last page to see how it was going (which was a page ago now) before I caught up with the middle (which is now probably not happening).

Because they need to move on. This thread needs to move on; we are chasing our tails. Yes, people got screwed, but wallowing in self-pity and victimization is not going to change a blessed thing except to prevent the aggrieved, and the rest of us, from moving forward. If Fender/Gretsch had any intention of making restitution they would have done so by now.
Young Indy got screwed at the beginning of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and he did not like it. But he rose above it and did alright for himself. All I am seeing from these recent posts is a lot of sound and fury which signifies nothing.

I simultaneously agree and disagree. I agree that people shouldn't EXPECT Fender to do anything at this point. You should probably move on and not expect anything in that regard.
However, Nintendo for instance didn't start fixing and acknowledging their joycon issues until AFTER people spoke up, made a stink, and class action lawsuits were filed. So.. if Fender WILL do anything, I think the class action lawsuits and making a stink would be a route to push them there. So... is it worth it to you? If so, then pursue it yeh, power to you.
Just for clarity, Nintendo didn't do anything until class action lawsuits were filed... That's it. None of the stink-making or speaking up actually made a difference. How much product did Nintendo move that was subject to the CAL compared to this, though?
