Just noticed this, what is this new Ampeg pedal you speak of?Yup, he sticks solely to 8x10s.
Also, you don't NEED a TA bass. You can find any bass loaded with 2 EMG DC35 pickups. Might also wanna try that new Ampeg pedal, or the Sansamp VT Bass with the mids cranked.

The Ampeg SCR-DI.
Ampeg: Pedals - SCR-DI
Also, speaking of the new bass... you can get a sneak peak of his FRX sig coming out next year here. 27 seconds in.
1-thank u for the Ampeg info, Im gonna check that out.
2-new sig bass?! Very cool, I think I like his older one better, better looking anyway, will they have an LTD and ESP version?
3- wich do u like better, the Ampeg or Sansamp VT pedal?
You've got some great Riches! I love my Wave. I hope to get anotherI miss the days when he played a BC rich wave, such a cool bass....

Man, the ESP FRX with the steer skull inlays in the Repentless vid is sweet!! I'd like to try one of his Signature ESPs. Anyway, here's my Wave.View attachment 751845 View attachment 751847
Yep, that's mine. 1996 USA Custom Shop.neckthru maple, maple wings. It's a great player! It's an odd one. Nip less like Martin Evans intended. I'd like another one, whether it has nipples or not, but I like them like this the most. I haven't seen a single ESP Araya signature bass in person. I'd like to. My Wave I like to think of as an unofficial Sig. Only one besides his anyone knows of.Is this a handmade or a signature model?? I noticed it doesn't have the "Bernie nipples" LOL!! I've tried one of his ESP's too, honestly I wasn't impressed but lots of people like them...

Thanks man! I miss my 84 Mock with varitone, it was a bear thru my Portaflexes. I'd love an NJ Wave.I missed 2 within a month of getting this.turned out pretty well for me that time. Tom rocked his NJ a lot of shows! His Wave like this was built in 88. I asked for a quote to build this bass 3 times 94-98,and they said they wouldn't make me one. But still gave me a quote lol. Someone got it done. The Custom Shop is building a Wave bass, and a Wave guitar for a friend right now. Pretty cool stuff! Swing past BC Rich Junkies, and BC Rich World on facebook if you havent. It's worth a look! If you ever find that issue of Guitar World I'd love to see it. 1994, right around when Tom played his Hill Custom. Not sure when ESP made the TA bass. But a couple shows in 2000 Tom rocked his Wave. And an Ibanez. I've got pics I think. I'd buy a TA 500! No inlays on the early ones.
Is it just me or is Tom beginning to look like Santa Claus?FWIW, he has a new ESP custom that's based on the "new" FRX shape.

But as you can see, it's still active-equipped.
Also, the bass you posted is a budget model. His more pricey models still have actives.
My guess is that he used them in the studio, and/or he has EMG soapbar P's in his current basses.
But you can't even hear the dude's sound anyway, why does it matter?![]()
Lol, KrampusIs it just me or is Tom beginning to look like Santa Claus?
