Have Araya returned to passive pickups?

So your bass isnt a Tom Araya model? BC Rich didnt make one?
Nope, BC Rich didn't make one. My Wave is a Custom Shop handmade, not 100% accurate to Toms. Close as I could find though. Ironic, I approached the Custom Shop to make me one, and was told they wouldn't. This was in the early 90s. My bass was made in 96. Today, the Custom Shop will make whatever you want, and there's a Vintage artist reissue series coming. I'm not in any way connected to BC Rich, just sayin. My information comes from Managing Director of the USA Custom Shop, and the Vice President of Sales/Artist Relations. The future looks pretty good, I'm hoping so. Anyway, my Wave isn't one of a kind, and sort of is at the same time.

Well its killer...BC Rich was THE guitar brand in the 80s....I was one of those kids who loved all the bands that used them and when I was finally able to get one it was a cheap one,...I was 13 and didnt know the difference, it played like garbage but looked killer, years later when I finally got to play a USA model I found out what the fuss was about. I bought a USA Eagle and played the hell out of that bass( sold it like a fool) would love to have another,...the more recent NT models are quite good quality too, I had a Warlock for a while ( my first Rich years ago was a neon pinkish Warlock, would love to have another for sentiment)

My Wave is my second USA, and second neckthru. I had Platinum Warlocks almost 20 years. I wish I had one today, for nostalgia. I'd really like an NJ neckthru bass. One day! My first bass was a Danelectro junior bass. Miss that one. BC Rich just clicked for me. When Mtv was new and played music, there were a ton of Riches! I have a healthy wish list of basses, several BCRs!! Like to have another early 80s Mockingbird, a Bich, for sure another Wave. I can't complain a bit about my USAs. Even die hard non BCR guys like my Wave lol.new ownership of the brand has gotten off to a decent start. Per usual not much new for basses yet, but I believe it will happen.

I bet I posted this already, but it's worth another look. I would still really like an early TA500, I really like Tom's FRX. I hope to be able to play one.
