Have I found an envelope filter sound I like?

So, I have been fairly firm in my dislike for envelope filters thus far in my bass playing career, mainly due to a distaste for the super sharp "quacky" sound. Nothing wrong with it, just not my style. Then, I came across the Final Fantasy 7 remake, and a track from it caught my attention while I was reliving fond memories of my childhood.

Specifically, this one:

I absolutely love the bass tone in this track, but am simultaneously befuddled by it. I don't recognize the effect, and I'm wondering if this is a type of envelope filter sound I've just had in my blind spot due to my dislike of what I hear in reviews. Is there a particular pedal out there that nails this sound? Is it not even an envelope filter at all, and I'm overthinking it?

Sounds more like a Bass Synth or Synthesizer of some kind, rather than a straight envelope filter.

Something like the Source Audio C4 Synth, or other Bass Synth with some envelope filtering should be able to get you in the neighborhood.

Thanks. I have a Boss SY-1, but I wasn't finding anything in there that hit this tone. I'll do another dive, and check out the C4 if I can't find what's in there. Might have just cleared up space on the board for a MIDI controller, too...
