Not really. Try LC.No doubt, I just was looking for knowledge from headless builders as this may be a fairly niche scenario...

One of my newest friends. 32" Bendwell, 16.5mm spacing, dual/single coil switch!!View attachment 4527652
Very nice. I keep telling myself I'll order a Streamline 5 in 32" / 16.5mm one day...
After I posted before, I looked up the current prices and it's a little under UKP3000 / $A5600 / $US4050. Add shipping and taxes on the lot and it would be $A6500, well out of my price range. The new EHB is about 1/3 that. That's the one I want!

You saying my beloved XL2 is soulless? I'd say it was svelte and the pivot plate/Boomerang systems are unequalled for comfort. It's as if a Steinberger L2 broke free of its soul-less angularity
Means people can still use DB strings which some prefer, and the Status ones are pretty good.I do wish they offered it in true 32" and not with the bendwell...

You're forgiven then. I used to sleep with the XL2.Mostly because I'm insanely jealous and also bitter having sold my XP2 back in the 90's out of necessity. If I imagine it having a sterile sound, I can sleep better at night knowing I'll probably never hold one, let alone own one.
Check. Had the XL2 since new in 86 and have the HBCS PUs that are (apparently) the same as the L2 to go in after the move.My headless mount Rushmore would be an L2
Had one, sent the woodwork out for refinishing and after an accident lost track of it. I'll explain further when I know more. Still have all the hardware and electronics.an Ex-Factor,
I have an early S3000. Close enough?a Streamliner
I'd be interested in one too, but too much $. Not convinced it's worth the upcharge over the EHB.and a Boden
I'm looking seriously at the EHB1265MS. Awaiting availability and ordering specifics.with the EHB getting an honorable mention.
To be fair, the bourbon was only responsible for the banana, and I almost never drink at all these days.I'm in the same boat but without the disposable income (or bourbon)
Here's a video that explains it better than I can in words. HTH.While I've always loved the look of the Kubikis, I'm curious, are the tuners direct pull (a la Steinberger) or winding around a peg?

The rest cost me, on the whole surprisingly little. Red B2 '17/$US250, Red guitar '21/ $US200, Yellow XT2 (new) '18/$US300 with the rest being pre '06 or so and the Status ('01) and Kubicki ('06) cost about $US700ea. All the rest, especially those bought in late C20 were really cheap as no one wanted headless basses back then.
The only reason I'm contemplating the new EHB is I'm selling a home in the city and moving back to the country or else I wouldn't have the cash.

I’ve owned several headless basses - first one was about 1986. Got three currently - two Status Streamline 4 strings (a fretless and a fretted), plus a white Steinberger Spirit.
