I've never considered them for d-ball...
Now if you are dead set on using d-ball strings, put them up on reverb and I'll give 'em a new home

I'll have to work my way through my potentially colossal misperception, which runs the very real risk of uncertainty expanding to fill my known universe, ending in the implosion of my very self.

There was a Washburn headless 4-string bass on EBay for $99+shipping.. I believe it was 84' and maroon color.. I almost bid on it until I remember I have too many guitars.. by chance anyone here get it?
So I got to my cheap Chinese Headless locking headpieces today and the first thing I tested was the low E passing through... No go. It seems like its just *barely* too narrow for the .105 gauge's full diameter.
I'm testing with a set of short scale string specifically made for the Ibanez Mikro since it's the same 28.5" scale that I'm using, but since I don't need to string it to tuners it still is too long, I would basically need the lead to only be an inch past the nut/zero fret but I have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much string.
Looks like I might have to try drilling one out... Good thing they came in a pack of 6, I get 3 chances!
Woot! So I found the largest drill bit that still fit and worked it in and out with a wiggle until the it started fitting at the ends, then I went to the next largest bit and now it fits! Definitely replacing the screws that came with the pieces though... don't trust 'em.
If anyone here is interested, I have a metallic red Hondo Alien headless (real similar body to a Kramer Duke) that I'm thinking of selling. GREAT travel bass. It just doesn't get any play time anymore since I bought a Hohner B2AFLDB. I'm not at home at the moment so I can't post pics but here's one on ebay....

Where'd you get this info? They look cool. I trust Ibanez when it comes to making good instruments, particularly with the premium range and stuff.

If I were sure that my wife wouldn't kill me, I would so do this to my Vader (minus the pumpkin knobs and the ones on the fretboard).
Never tried it but I hear the change is suttle. Try it out!
