Just remember, most wiring jobs are ONE.BIG.CIRUIT. Unless you add a lot of extra work, it will always be one circuit so nothing is truly isolated, I think that's why that load-free portion above is relevant. Switches can help, but they are often really just routing current on different paths (or combinations of paths) on the same circuit.

I think I have that right...

Les Pauls do have the same issue. It's just the nature of passive electronics; in a passive circuit, there's no way to really isolate individual components. So they're always interacting in ways you wouldn't anticipate. It's this kind of stuff that leads to some of the "magic" things that players have learned over the years, like having bridge pickup full and backing off the volume of the neck pickup of a jazz bass very gradually until the sound "opens up" - this is not just the volume control affecting tone, it's the interaction of the neck and bridge pickup impedances, how they load each other.

They have a sell-out on Warwick Double Balls 5 (sadly the fifth string is the high one) and 6 String
sets for really little money. Shipping in Germany is free when you spend more than 50€. Sadly the only way to see what shipping might cost, seems to be registering or asking them directly.

This is my newly aquired Spirit XT-25. Sounds almost active, and different than my 4 string Spirit.

I hate the Overlord of Music headpiece... so hopefully these will be a cost effective alternative...

Yes, I know its just more Chinese pot metal, but at least I can set the spacing and not have to cut weird shapes in the neck to make them fit like the OoM headpiece...

Also, as always, I'll be trying to replace the screws/hex nuts with (hopefully) higher quality hardware because nothing says JOY! like a screw head snapping during final assembly...

There's no way in the world I would touch those. Something that small needs to be precision machined out of high quality material. If you go there I predict despair.

Have you looked at the Nova headless system? It's also available via eBay, but looks to be much higher quality.

for $10 I'll give them a whirl... I wish I know how to make them myself... they are inherently such simple little pieces...

They're a ripoff of ABM: Invalid Link Removed

I bought a few from ABM, but was disappointed to discover that the ball-end retainer is ever so slightly too small for my D'Addarios... :crying:

See? Mine will have an instant advantage that I can just bend them to fit!!! :D :D :D /facepalm

Just kidding... I hope... lol

I will post my experience for good or ill, I am making two necks so if I bork one, I have a backup... I can always fall back on the OoM headpiece...
