What strings will you be using for this bass? It looks like you're going for regular strings, not double ball-end. If so, how are you clamping them at the nut?

He's gonna put on some DR Black Beauties mg. The grub screws in each slot on the headpiece act as string clamps to secure the string in place if you're not using double ball ends.

Thanks guys. Erik, I use polyester.

Well, that makes three basses I know of with tops from the same billet. There's a pic I posted earlier in this thread of a VB-5 I built with the same top wood. The top on this bass looks like it has more radial flamey stuff going on though. Cool looking stuff.
