Headless singlecut 6 string (bolt-on) in progress

Ready to start on that seven now?;)

I finally finished the headless. It's much more of a bass than I ever thought it would be. As the guy who built the thing I'm very pleased.

Yes, I will clip the strings when I'm convinced I don't have to remove them again.

WOW! That's awesome. How the heck do the wires from the preamp reach all the way to the output jack?! I'd love to see it's innards.

That was achieved with some creative fore thought, careful drilling and lots of patience. If I was smart I would have routed channels before I put the top on.

The body shape is very intriguing. It is reminiscent of the National Newport 84 produced between 1963-1965 by National-Dobro(later Valco) Manufacturing Co. They produced nine of these "map-shaped" bodies from both wood and plastic that ranged in price from $139.00 to $450.00.
Your design is a little more squared-off and business-like,which is appealing to me; the figuring on the top gloriously defies comment! This is going to be an outstandingly beautiful instrument! Kudos!

Beautiful stuff. Do you think you will consider making headless an option on other LeCompte basses in the future (I know this specific body design is not going to be made again)?

The topwood looks amazing too - that's walnut?

Thanks. No, I don't plan on offering any sort of standard headless models. Yes, walnut.
