Headless singlecut 6 string (bolt-on) in progress

This is a great collaboration between Lo and Bud! Good job guys!! It's great to see such a beautiful finished product! Great spec. and final design choices. Now tell us what bass #2 will be!! ;)

That was actually my idea, something that I've always thought was the most practical place for controls, especially in a live setting, it's right there and a lot more visual. The original design overall was my idea but Bud added his expertise and luthier's wisdom to come up with something that I think is VERY innovative and special, This is an instrument that I have had in my head for many years and actually Bud and I have been discussing the bass for well over a year, literally hundreds of emails!! This bass is actually one of two from Bud that I hope to have built over the next few months, number two being a top secret until everything is finalized. Thanks for all the great comments on the design, I'm kind of a real artsy fartsy type guy when It comes to design, I'm sure bud has had many headaches dealing with my ideas lol. That top really is amazing and a big thanks to Bud for finding it.

i think the "dot" is to fix a blemish in the top...

now the mystery is...what is the source of that blemish?

is it natural...or man-made?

well...I don't think Bud, that you'd select a top with such a major blemish...

my guess is that you had a slight "accident"...probably drilled too far on one of the neck bolts...the result was a bit of tearout on the top...

UH OHHHH!!

solution = the DOT!

LOL....that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

by the way...I LIKE the dot...

you should offer this bass in two styles...one dot or two... :D
