Is this some kind of Bendwell-like design?

It's a conversation starter.Thanks, Yvon.
That was actually my idea, something that I've always thought was the most practical place for controls, especially in a live setting, it's right there and a lot more visual. The original design overall was my idea but Bud added his expertise and luthier's wisdom to come up with something that I think is VERY innovative and special, This is an instrument that I have had in my head for many years and actually Bud and I have been discussing the bass for well over a year, literally hundreds of emails!! This bass is actually one of two from Bud that I hope to have built over the next few months, number two being a top secret until everything is finalized. Thanks for all the great comments on the design, I'm kind of a real artsy fartsy type guy when It comes to design, I'm sure bud has had many headaches dealing with my ideas lol. That top really is amazing and a big thanks to Bud for finding it.
Wow. I really like it. Could you give me a link to where you got those individual tuners? I haven't been able to find any via google. Thanks.

Thanks, Stew. The no-controls part would be a walk in the park after this bass. Mr. Punch wants a seven string next. You might want to wait until that's done. Then I'd have this natural progression thing going for me. An eight wouldn't seem so frightening then.
Can't wait to see it.I'm sure the owner is going to be very happy.
