IDK what power problems you folks are talking about? The confusion with power cables is understandable. The truth is you're getting bad power and you want to blame the cable itself. The real culprit is the cheap house wiring and the dirty power supplied by lazy power company employees who do not give 2 hoots about the kwality of you precious sound. This is why I've developed the Lug Power Systems 5000. This ultra-clean power source will allow you to transparently broadcast your own unique sound to the audience and allow them to understand and appreciate your true genius.

Electrons before Victor Wooten Power Cord Guitar Bass Amp Audio Power Cable | Essential Sound Products :Holy crap, I just read the gobbledygook ad copy claims for those things. Who knew that these cables could get electricity into my amp faster? What a load. I actually think much less of Wooten for putting his name on this hooey.

I know huh, I have the same problem with club owners when I also forklift my rig in.Can you build that into a Trace Elliot ELF, so I can have the ultimate lightweight gig rig?
(Full disclosure....I already have one built into my SVT, but it's starting to be a little rough on the knees.
The new forklift I purchased has alleviated that problem, but the club owners still seem less than enthused.)![]()
The Victor Wooten is lower end.
This is the one you need. Only $2499. For a 1.5 meter long cord.
They must piss their pants laughing every time someone buys one!

Audio woo is a rampant industry. People buying into it believe they hear a difference. That's how strong human bias is.

The danger in all of this is if someone grabs a power cord that is too lightweight for the device.18 gauge, 3 wire cord is rated 7 amps. 7 x 120 = 840 watts.
16 gauge, 3 wire cord is rated 10 amps. 10 x 120 = 1200 watts.
14 gauge, 3 wire cord is rated 15 amps. 15 x 120 = 1800 watts.
Spec a cord that will handle the maximum load of the device (amp)
The wire will handle more than that, especially intermittently, but if used above the rated ampacity continuously, it will heat up and there is voltage drop.
A bass amp does not spend much time at full power.
right, but for a regular bass amp on a regular stage that's not going to happen; any random IEC cable scrounged from the old computer storage closet at the office will be fineThe danger in all of this is if someone grabs a power cord that is too lightweight for the device.
