My name is Matt, and I'm a 24 year old law student from Philadelphia. I'm really excited to finally take the plunge and register for this forum! I've been reading it on and off for years now, since I started playing bass.
I'm mainly a violinist, but after the bassist of my band quit, I switched over. I'm now currently in the process of upgrading my gear (I got a paid legal job this summer, so I feel good about blowing it on real bass stuff!), so I'm hoping I can find some great advice around here. So far, so good! A few threads here convinced me which amp to buy, and I am a happy man now.
I play alternative/emo (Death Cab) currently, although I am much more of a death metal fan in general. I'm hoping one day to get into a real heavy band, but I'm happy as long as I'm playing something.
